Not my real name of crse (real name is Mike). What can I say... I really enjoy all your series. Here is a positive vote from a real Line-Soldier. Being a medically retired Veteran/Soldier (34 1/2 yrs) (first Infantry, next Military Police, & finally Logistics Officer), I like how you place emphasis on defence, supply, & defence emplacement. Most gamers of this style/genre, who do not understand that without adequate ammo/fuel pre-placement & delivery throughout the battle, that you are doomed to lose before even a shot is fired. As for without adequate ammo/fuel supply, that rifle of yours just becomes a nice big shiny stick, your tanks just become a form of Dragon's Teeth, & the rest of your Army, Naval & Air assets just become target practice (to hone the skills of your adversary... at best, or at worst, allow your foe to capture your assets, so that they can turn around & use your wpns/assets against you). Further, for those Gamers who do not understand (like you show/do) that you actually need to "dig-in" your Forces, that warfare is not all about just the actual fighting. For a 'planned' battle to actually take place, there is countless hrs in formulating the plans, & these 'real' plans have countlesss Annexes & Appendixes (& discuss such 'minor' topics as timings, Command & Control, frequencies, fuel, ammo, transportation, attachments & detachments, ammo/fuel usage forecasts, pre-dedployment, etc). Thus Raptor (from this Soldier), keep up the good work. Cheers. Thoughts?

Cheers Mike for taking the time to give that insight into what it takes to actually prepare for an engagement. Could I ask you what your thoughts are on a couple of phrases I have heard- "If you have to pull the trigger, then everyone else has failed their job" or words to that effect, and secondly the statistic that it takes 9-15 people to support one soldier on the frontline (I believe the lower end was for the US in WW2, the latter today).

There is no 6th panzer army in German military record in WWII(correct me), it was the 6th army at Stalingrad, there is almost no tank to be seen on Stalingrad because the German panzer division not giving any support to the 6th army, because it's impossible for the soviet to take Stalingrad, 500.000 man stationed in there and not to mention the foreign legion from Romania and Italian who defending the 6th army flank got overrun.

Did I miss something or what? I didn't see the massive crush of artillery that was available to the Soviets by this time. Not to mention a massive amount of air support. The Red Army could basically pulverize and completely suppress the defenders before they even started their infantry and armored assaults by this time.
