@@kallistikaleidI’m surprised you watched the show if your not into fanservice as I see there’s a lot of it in 100 girlfriends but it is also one of the reasons I respect it, it knows what it is and doesn’t shy away from it with the harem aspect and fanservice aspect, plus the MC actually being a character and not a self insert and actually loving his harem instead of being a coward or a stupid dense character, I also like how it doesn’t take itself seriously and when drama does happen it’s well built into the show and doesn’t come off as try hard or trying to hide behind trying to have a story.

This episode....I cried. The blatant, overwhelming love between these goofy ass, nonsensical, no-holds-barred, "love shared is love miltiplied" crazy people was just too much to deny feeling something in myself. What with me being polyamourous, Rentaro's hella chad speech to Hihari was said better than most of the times I've tried to explain it!!! Between Father in Law, that speech, and the overwhelming, undeniable, intense and unending love and commitment between these characters, I am certain that this will always be one of my favorite romance animes every, up there with Horimiya, Bloom Into You, Loving Yamada, Kase-san, and Dress-Up Darling.

I mean, the currently published original manga reached 27 girlfriends (as I'm writing this comment, 161 chapters in), and also there's also the interview with Aka Akasaka sensei (author of kaguya sama and oshi no ko) stating that he wants at least 4 seasons of 100gf anime. But Nakamura sensei's concerns are the VA works and the costs might be a problem later on. (I recommend go read the interview. They discuss a lot of interesting topics such as opinions on what makes romcom good, and discussing both of their work) We know that this series has enough source materials to go for more. The manga is FAR from the ending, and the anime is just STARTED.

The scene between Rentarou and the ghost of Hahari's lover reminds me of this josei romance anime called Natsuyuki Rendezvous, where the MC fell in love with a flower shop owner and started to work there part time just to get closer to her-only for him to get constantly haunted by the ghost of her late husband. Also, if they follow the same formula as S1 for S2, the internet will go into its worst bonkers mode since My Tiny Senpai (Because shortstacked adults should never exist and have no right to love, according to them) and The Girl and Her Guard Dog (Well, this one is kind of a mixed bag) if they drop #12 unannounced in the last legs of the season.
