Terminal Attack needs to disable Thermal Vision and Cloaking Device like they have Defib and Heal Beam.

I feel like the problem with terminal attack is that regenerated health doesn’t scale. If someone gets wounded but survives, they end up on 100 health no matter the class, which makes it pointless to run anything but light. Either they probably need to add back in full regen or they need to have surviving health scale depending on the class.

That’s a good point, again a smaller micro change but makes up a big part of the actual mode so this is some good feedback. I think that potentially full health regen, or changing how much regen per class could be a cool path for adjustments…

​@@THiiXYit should be 2/3s across the board. The light class already has benefits built in for not ha ing starting health. So late round they have a huge advantage with more dps, shooting bigger targets, less recoil, no reloading for 2 ranged weapons, invis and on and on

The heavy's mesh shield is 750 health and regens, they also have dome and barricades. The heavy can 1 shot any class at 100 health with the RPG or a well timed charge. The medium can place a turret with free health and damage. If other classes find it annoying having to play with a 100 health well the light player has to basically do that the whole game. If they survive one of the many ways they can get nearly one shot they instantly go down to 100 cap. A heavy can tank an rpg and still have more than 100 health. If the health were to be progressively equal for each class then the heavy would have 233 and the medium 167 making the light's 100 health a joke. I think there should either be full health regen or no regen at all.

I still generally prefer cashout, but Terminal Attack has grown on me quite a bit. It’s still the same game, same movement mechanics weapons gadgets etc, all the things i like the about the Finals are still there, just differently paced.

100% with some changes and polishing I feel like we will get a lot closer to a better ranked iteration of this mode. For now it’s not been the best replacement for cashout, hence why it would have been nice to keep both, but let’s see what World Tour will offer.

The problem is that in CS. Val, and R6 any player on your team can clutch and have an equal opportunity to be lucky or skilled. The mentioned games have ONE SHOT HEADSHOTS. The finals IS NOT built for this to be a ranked mode.

The difference here is movement as the skill gap. more people have 'better' aim than 'better' movement. It's certainly doable but significantly less so for sure.

I agree that most of those games have clutch opportunities, but that doesn’t write off THE FINALS completely from it. In this video I literally did a 1v4, sure with the OP light build but everyone else was running it too. Another thing does all games need to have that clutch trait? If a player makes a mistake then that should have a consequence. Not arguing against you was just a question would love to read your perspective!

I agree. I love cashout. I love Terminal Attack. I have 700 hours in the game. And I can say that both modes need major improvements. I think its good cashout isn't locked in ranked for them to test different stuff in WT and have TA as the ranked mode for now. TA also needs major improvements like the map size and all.

100% I think that it’s understandable why some people are upset but it’s safe to say that everything needs an adjustment. Sure if Embark saw that every season they were not keeping new players, of course they would want to try mixing it up to see if it changes. That’s how companies survive. it would be great having separate queues for stacked teams, its fucking frustrating to fight against people that are playing together in ANY mode, not only TA. Also the matchmaking in TA is pretty sad, getting matches where there are silvers,golds and even bronze against platinums

i love TA , the matchmaking is my only big issue, as someone who completely quit the game and came back because of TA ranked, when i got placed at 25K and ever since then every game has been a full 35k-40k 5 stack, it needs to be more balanced, like in csgo and valorant, 4-5 stacks go against 4-5 stacks, i got 2 silvers and a bronze on my team the other day against 3 plats and 2 27k golds, its broken unfortunately.

100% on my first day as a solo I was going 4-0 (4 match wins) then the next game I was against Piggy’s 5 stack team as a solo, should never happen. This is why Riot Games are very good against those experiences for players, but player count could be an issue forcing these scenarios to happen :/

I really think pushing terminal attack to more of a COD S&D experience would make it more fun. I'd like to see everyone be able to regen to full hp, everyone running light is just the only option right now. Maybe we should revert the "prep faze". I just feel like the matches need some more momentum since they dont play like R6 or CS.

TA needs spawn boundary adjustments. I know that snipers can spawn kill on monaco and las vegas. The second the barrier goes down its a free kill. Consistently did it 3 rounds in a row myself. (Att get spawn killed)

It’s so bad how even 1 match starts and ends then someone leaves in rank and the game doesn’t end and we get demolished , there should be such. A harsh punishment of losing 900-1k points in ranked. The Elo system is so bad , I’m not even enjoying the game anymore

I personally think that TA could work for tanked this season if it was more forgiving. In the original cashout mode even qualifying once was still a net positive in terms of RP. When I play TA and get an extremely close game I still receive a significant loss in RP. Solo queuing is especially difficult now when rather than getting 2 teammates with varying skill levels you must now rely on 4. I also feel as if getting a high combat, support, or objective score doesn't actually affect your overall ranking. If so it needs to be greatly increased.

Yeah I agree with you in that the length and time invested into TA is close to ranked tournament runs up to round 2 into the final round, and by that point you’ve already likely progressed but in TA, a loss is outright a loss. Maybe make TA shorter rounds and adjust the way rank score is given out

In cashout I had only two teammates I’d have to worry about, now in TA I have to worry about 4 teammates and I am completely unable to fix their mistakes. Along with the annoyance of being put down to 100 health after the first fight of every round.

I have to say, I find it EXTREMELY refreshing to hear any opinion other than “TA killed the game”. I happen to agree with you, I prefer cash out most of the time but TA is a good time, and with some tweaks(I think revives being allowed would make it feel less boring after you die for example) it could be a great mode. And before people ask me why, it’s because I play video games because of competition, I don’t like casual gaming. I think the game flowed a lot better and was just a lot more fun in general as cash out. The one life just has me sitting around if I die early and it discourages risky and fun plays. I know I can still play cash out in world tournament and I do every once in a while now, but I can’t play search and destroy from call of duty for hours on end and even if I could why would I speaking that it’s just not a unique game mode. They took out what makes the finals the finals in my opinion.

Therminal attack is quite fun too, just a different in some ways kind of fun, it is less frantic than cashout but more nerve racking and suspenseful, i seek and dread at the same time every encounter. Having said that, even tho i personally have fun with the mode as it is right now, can agree with the neccessity of some kind of costumization of the maps for the TA mode in particular and maybe a reduction in the rounds needed to win the match so the games can feel a little more fast paced. I understand that Cashout is the preferred mode for the majority and that the change can be frustrating, but i find the reactions and drama about it quite overblown. People absolutely can manage for a couple of months with WT if they hate Therminal Attack until they add Cashout back to ranked next season (it could even happen mid season) but they are acting like they killed the game lol. I find the stiffness and lack of adaptability of many players probably more problematic than the changes in the game it self.

I started to play and rank TA (I'm still silver but I'm getting there) and it is a super fun mode, also you can mess around with your teammates before the round and it's not as sweaty as other modes. Contrary to cashout, I started to play it competitive and I just can't make it work. In TA or Power Shift, I can get 2 or 3 KD almost everytime, but in cashout is just not for me, but I want to make it work, sometimes I just try to play the objective and suddenly team wipe... if you can provide some tips, I would appreciate it.

I'm trying so hard to like TA but its killing me atm. Weird tho as I've come from CS so dying early and sitting out the round didnt bother me nearly as much as it does on TA.

Yeah I feel you on that one, I think it's because in CS, you moreso kind of make a play to enable your team to do something, like an entry fragger, or providing util to trade etc so you know you're contributing. In THE FINALS TA, it's really just solo's 1v1/1v2ing until the last players alive with the team trying to take space.

The Winch just turned into the stun gun. It surprises me that no one was talking about that as much as the light stun. It's basically the light stun gun all over again but worse, I think they just needed to take out the stun when winched. I haven't touched TA tbh, I'm having fun on world tour! It's not stun gun Stun gun allow u to move and shoot when enemy panicked While Winch, both party can't shoot each other till u get pulled and u absolutely can shoot before Heavy who winch you can shoot Also it's a SPECIALIZATION, not gadget, other heavy gadget literally very good and such waste to not use while Stun is gadget What if Stun can disable opponents entirely, can't shoot, gadget and Specialization but it's Light Specialization? Yeah you need to now go to the terminal and actually "plant" it now, the defuse is the same. Plant time is like 3 seconds or so.

I havent played the finals this season. Tbh I hope they have what it takes cause valorant is finally on consoles. I have been playing it and had lots of fun. Since the finals now is basically terminal attack it will be hard to compete directly against valorant in my opinion. Competitive wise it’s not even a close match.

It's funny how when meta was heavy and medium we did not get any nerfs for a long time but once the meta is lights we get instant nerfs. I feel like embark hates lights together with the entire community. I'm not saying the nerfs were not needed though.

Ranked just isn't for me anymore so I'm just indifferent to TA. The mode is extremely boring for me so I don't play it. World tour is a ton of fun with friends. The solo experience is still really boring and repetitive. The melee meta isn't here yet but from the testing I've done in private matches, I still think it is only a matter of time before it's becomes the main meta. Thats my thoughts on the season so far. Pretty mid hope next one's more interesting.

Im happy with the patch, LH1 was so overpowered I started using it and I'm a terrible light. I kind of enjoy ranked TA but also stopped playing it because i am getting some REALLY dumb players. I was Diamond 4 last season in cashout and this TA mode just doesnt feel clutchable for someone who solo ques vs solo que cashout. Now I know I'm not a god at the game. But I am really good. That being said when every class goes down to 100 health it feels like there is very little use to be anything other than a DPS machine and focus on using my teammates as meat shields and attrition the enemies down. Ive already had mutliple round aces that ive lost because i dont have enough time to defuse or i cant rotate out to plant because. And if i play with my team i watch everyone bum rush the objective and die. Also I am gold 4 in TA right now. I dont want to sound like a complainer but I do not know what to do with this mode, it just doesnt play quite right to me. Side note: world tour feels so stupid easy its painful. Im having so much fun cause i feel like i can play any class i want and win but i dont know if thats a good thing.

I know what you’re saying though and as I said in the video, solo queuing is pretty difficult because you can firstly be put against 4/5 stacks and then secondly have to gamble with this new system matching you into a “fair” game. Ive played The Finals since OB, first game in many years i could honestly say i had that bug back for. Id jump on every spare minute i could, which isnt much but i looked forward to the next play session Since the end of season 2 i think ive played an hour max... im not going to hate on TA, it is what it is but for me i dont feel like i have anything to play for this season. Maybe im burnt out... hope im burnt out... but season 3 for me might be a miss. Looking forward to season 4 though!!

some match you will see some idoits using sledge hammer, slam skill and gravity grenade to crash the server in order not to let the other team to win when they are losing. There is no counter method to deal with hacker and server crasher. Im losing hope to this game........especially in rank mode

I think it is the better ranked mode though as when your team is playing well you will win and vice versa. But in cash out there is way too much rng envolved with spawns and third party, you can win playing like shit and lose playing really well it’s very annoying.

@@THiiXY The main atraction at first l had with the game was for it trying to incorporate diferent stuff from the shooter sub-genre in a new mode/game, which were abilities from hero-shooters, movement and platform type movement adn respawn from arena shooters, tactical thinking from objetive based modes like search and destroy (CSGO,valorantrainbow six) + map destruction from battlefield , recoil control like apex legends and a gamemode with similar vibe as a BR in smaller scale. (l played a ton of teamfortress 2, apex legends and overwatch and a bit of BF style games) All the initial modes the game has show this trait of The finals pretty well. when talking in particular about the cashout mode, it has flaws related to the way money gain works and third party, but it feels more fun then going and playing a pure search and destroy mode that is TA which l never liked, l have friends trying to convince me to play these styles of game since cs 1.6 and l still don't like them, l know its a me thing. The mode main issue right now for the players that like this style of game in my opinion are the extremely assymetrical maps with tons of angles. Map design is quite important for this type of game, otherwise you gonna receive permanent damage with no counterplay what so ever. just compare the amount of angles you need to check when going between areas in the maps we have to any map from csgo or valorant. No wonder light with LH1+ invis is the meta in the mode (poke and negate/reduce the mult angle issue). other things related to TTK, those tactical shooter genre games are usually quite fast TTK to reward positioning and make so 1v4s are possible in unfavorable situations. good luck getting a ace in 1v5 in the finals against 3 heavies and 2 lights for example, the health advantage is a big factor in high ttk games to force teamwork unless players are crackes to the point of cheats. their attempt to create this was the 100hp minimal regen. Another big issue for the mode is the minimal health for regen being 100hp for every class, it should scale by hp percent/class, otherwise it forces people to play quite campy and safe since the risk for permanent damage makes so when every class gets to the state of 100hp, light is gonna win most of the time, their guns have the fastest TTK by design and they have the smaller hitbox. The end result in general is a mode that feels slaped in to a game that was not design for this style of play. l Would prefer for them to try and improve the cashout gamemode even if by design it still isnt as competitive as team vs team type of gamemode.

Yeah I 100% agree with you that the initial modes really put a shine towards something that even I feel was missing in the FPS genre, a mix of those elements from a developer that's not corporate, a game made by gamers. I'm also now thinking over my TF2 experience back in around 2012, such fun times now you remind me aha. Yeah Cashout has some flaws, and it feels like it's in a better state than TA at the moment, and I'll agree with you that ofc if Embark have some good feedback and implement some changes well that cashout has the ability to really pop off and shine. Part of me wonders what would happen if we had cashout with this MMR system we have now (with some fixes to the algo ofc lol). I think that TA can improve a tonne with some of the points raised in the video, and that's what I want, the best of both worlds for the community - space for those that enjoy a more refined but twisted version of Terminal Attack (Attack and Defend) but also a place where Cashout players can grind, casually or competitively - which is what I was expecting World Tour having the potential to deliver.

@@THiiXY the only thing l think its complicated to adress by the devs is how to satisfy both, since separeting 2 ranked modes would create more problems in terms of queue times and might divide the community even more with their current choice of switching the mode entirelly

I only played rank and have hundreds of hours in this game, if they would’ve at the very least mixed cashout and TA in ranked that would’ve been sooooo much better than forcing TA and giving us a shitty world tour.

I came into terminal attack with an open mind and just didn't enjoy it, the slower gameplay isn't what I play the finals for. Not to mention the chip damage, it really does ruin it for me. If you enjoy it then good but I do think that its the minority.

I'm seeing a lot of negativity surrounding ta. I hope people realize the can play any of the other modes available. I have a fun time dealing with absolute sweats or even cheaters. My stack that I play with has good coms, but all of our gun skills vary so we have to rely on playing slow and methodical on a game that's really fast paced and unpredictable. That has been working more lately than whatever we were doing and we've been getting more wt wins. I know ranked is where you get some exclusive cosmetics, but you don't have to play it. I dont think ta was the best edition for this game in particular, but I don't mind it because I play r6 siege, so coming up with strats is easier for me and my squad.

No, i personly just dont like the mode. I have a very poor reaction time and aim, so i never realky got good at val or csgo, i was bronze and silver. The cashout mode was the first competitive mode, that i was semi-good at. It has a lot of strategies, that arnt just based of shooting. The objective play is so nuanced, that if you play properly you barly have to taje a fair 1v1. Terminal attack is mainly about getting into one fight per round, that leaves you too low to fight again. When i first played it, i thought it would be more tactical, but it honestly less. Modes like this need chokpoints, permanent sites and defiend map regions to be strategic. Cashout is about staying strategic amids caosh. Terminal attack is about getting lucky and shooting the other guy first.

I still personally don't find terminal attack enjoyable, Lights dominate the meta, especially sniper and LH1. Maybe changing damage for specific weapons but only in terminal might be a good change? Main thing for me is I'm just not engaged when I play terminal attack I really wanted to grind it for the ruby ak but it's honestly not worth it. My 3 stack team is also on the same page and when we world tour its just not as enjoyable since its no longer competitive the gold badge you receive at the end just feels like a participation award... We're currently looking into other games like Destiny 2 maybe we'll come back for season 4 if ranked cashout comes back.

You aren't gonna get any hate from me, if TA is your jam, lean into it. I wish you well. I'm just not interested in it. Embark would probably think I'm boycotting, but I'm really not. I just assess the available mode options and TA is never my choice. I would occasionally play it to mix things up in s2, like I do with power shift, but having it ranked just makes me pass. For me it's just tame. The most cracked plays in TA feel like regular cash out gameplay.

Throwing knifes were finally in a place were you had a chance against the other classes and now they nerfed them TWICE again!! Light is the least used for teamplay and comp. Out job, by game design, is to get in get some kills and get out. And they keep nerfing us because Medium and Heavy are in danger in a gunfight for once. Forget in, until Light get some mutch needed love I dont touch Finals again. Thank good the Elden Ring DLC is here soon.

Oh sorry it was probably my horrible way of explaining things and sometimes can get me taken out of context, I’ll explain what I meant by that; So my point this video was basically a TLDR; I enjoy TA so I have bias, however, someone that would try TA out for the first time regardless if they are an experienced player or not, would by default already have a bad time because the current meta in that mode (LH, invis, thermal) didn’t give a fair view or experience to player playing that mode. Yes even if that player trying out TA would still not like it because it’s very CS based, it’s still not what Embark were going at with this mode (defenders rushing attackers and holding high ground invis etc) I didn’t mean to infer that I was dictating the experience and summary of players that had already tried the mode out, I was just saying there’s a difference between a complete and well thought out mode VS a mode that had little testing competitively and a big decision at such a quick time. In my “ranked is changing” video I said that I would have preferred both modes to give you the path of grinding for a rank, but that’s another question or issue to solve. Hopefully that clears it up.

@@THiiXY very important context, thank you. I agree a bad TA gives a worse impression for new players than a more polished TA, but I think the point is moot. TA should be alternate ranked at best but probably just an LTM in a rotating playlist or something. Cashout is king, it's literally what the finals is all about. Even if TA wasn't a hot mess, the game and playerbase still would be.

Listen, I can’t get behind that statement. The LH one has nothing to do with terminal attack sucking. Everybody’s pissed because it’s an afterthought game mode that replaced the main game in ranked. Keeping TA in the game is fine. But to completely replace the base game with that for any competitive or balancing issues is not OK. we play the finals because it’s a futuristic arcade style game not a cs-go remake. The base game is called cash out it consists of four teams to cash boxes and a knockout tournament style game. TA is nothing close to that. How can you balance for both game modes? Something needs to be replaced it’s that simple. That’s the problem everybody has. It’s common sense. The problem is every so-called big streamer knows how to play counterstrike and is clueless to cash out. So when they play the game and get shit on bec they haven’t learned yet they will stay this game sucks or TA is the better game mode. Every fanboy in the world will just listen. It’s OK for people to enjoy TA and it’s OK for them to continue to work on it. I hope this doesn’t destroy the future of the finals because we all know reskining old games was not it.

Ohhh great points, you’ll actually be waaaay more clear with my overall thoughts on the mode if you watch my “THE FINALS Ranked is changing” video.
