"And then all the different _work, work, work, work, work_ is giving me a crisis right now." Excellent, because that's exactly what Stupes was going for lol. I love this track

This is one of my all time favorites from Stupes. It’s got that swingy flow, with just a bit of that relatable existentialism. Lol

Fun fact: They do say "Work" 5 times to earn the right to live, after a 6th time they state their death (or being in the ground). Monday through Friday. "We work, [to earn the right to work] x4" (5 times: work) - To then state how they're working to earn the right to die. "We work [and then we work] x5" (6 works - they die. Skipping the right to earning the right to live - and they most likely have failed the right to die). I find the count entertaining, and possibly purposeful - including the mixing of "Hurry", "Work", and "Worry" afterwards. In any combination it works in both the panic of working for an industry like this (In game or reality) and in general. "Work Work" "Hurry Hurry" "Worry Worry" "Worry Hurry" "Worry Work" etc.

The Stupendium has a tremendous knack for two things: Pointing out the darker implications of our real world present in our media (See Also: "The Data Stream" for Cyberpunk 2077 and "Wool Over Our Eyes" for Cult of the Lamb). And rhyming a word with itself but each use has a different meaning. See "Humanity's interest". The first meaning being how interstellar colonization is a benefit to humanity. The second being the market growth made from selling out humanity itself for a profit motive. Also "On account". First meaning: because, or for a stated reason. Second meaning: The company is literally tallying up your net value by balancing your productivity to your compensation, and they'll come calling for payment the instant your account is in the red.

I'm torn between this one and The Data Stream as my top 2 Stupes songs. Number 3 is And So We Fall.

Eh, nothing wrong with paying taxes as long as the system they go into isn't corrupt. When the system works as intended, then taxes become worthwhile investments that makes our lives better when we're not working. Comrade: What did you tell that man just now? Capitalist: I told him to work faster. Comrade: How much do you pay him? Capitalist: $25 a day. Comrade: I see. And where do you get the money to pay him? Capitalist: I sell products. Comrade: Who makes the products? Capitalist: He does. Comrade: Uh-huh... And how many products does he make in one day? Capitalist: About $100 worth. Comrade: Then instead of _you_ paying _him_ -- _he_ is actually paying _you_ $75 a day to tell him to work faster. Capitalist: Huh? But the machines he's using belong to me. Comrade: How did you get the machines? Capitalist: I sold products and bought them. Comrade: ...and who made those products? Capitalist: Shut up! He might hear you!
