I have stayed places where I had a hand-written welcome note in the room on arrival. It's a lovely touch. I ordered tequila on line recently, and got a hand-written thank you as well. I hope good manners never go out of style.

A few years ago. The company I work in had a award ceremony in a fancy Hill country hotel.. The award recipients had a suite with concierge service.. and extras. A hand write note on arival was indeed nice.. I get few times to brag about it. Im never going to a place like that with my own money. But I'm so happy I was given a glimpse ...

@starwing02 жыл бұрын
Not if it’s cast iron
@ninaelsbethgustavsen21312 жыл бұрын
Actually it does. First the casting. Liquid clay is poured into the hollow casts. Of lid, pot, handle, and spout. Then they have to dry slightly before being removed from the cast. The handle and spout are then "glued" on with liquid clay. Further drying is recuired. Until solid. Note that clay shrinks when drying ! When tested for no internal flaws, and if the lid actually fits, the pot is glazed. Then dried and fired. Preferably 2-3 times over. Lastly the pot gets decorated. Then fired again. There is always a chance of something going wrong during this process. One small air bubble can explode a full oven ! Plus a tiny spot of burnt in dust will make a tea pot second rate, at best....

Just think, you reach your final day on Earth, you look back at your life lived and see that you spent most of it running around after a bunch of over-privileged rich people, pandering to their every pathetic whim, making them feel important because they have money. You spent your valuable time being their servant and that was the sum total of your working component of life’s journey..

That is why I left London... After 15 years of working in hospitality in hotels like Rosewood, The Lanesborough, and finally Corinthia... It is way too much stress, rush and struggle... Even though have to admit Corinthia is one of the very few hotels in London that actually care about their staff and rewards them accordingly. Rosewood wasn't bad either, and is a pretty stunning hotel. After some time however, you get tired of all the maddnes involved in serving the rich and famous!!! So basically you are spot on...

Wait a minute … this ONE man is making executive cost decisions for a hotel for a 15,000 banqueting service & he just broke a tea pot that takes a a week to make. This is how you can go bankrupt overnight & look… there’s no one there to stop him & his inflated ego. Wow ! No wonder the UK is going under, it’s not just Johnson & Brexit .. .it’s decisions like this by ONE MAN. Ridiculous.
