@@hurtluke Yes usually, Same with some of the older 4.2's like the one outta the B6/B7 S4. With that being said, I love my B6, and if you do it right, you only gotta do the chain once with an upgraded RS4 chain. And then it never needs to be touched for the rest of it's car life.

I think the v8 is rather cheap here. It seems like the rich KZbin kids like them lol I did look up the v10 though and there is one for sale for $221,000 and the 570S "starts at" $191,000 so they might be close to the same price. What do I know though, I drive a beat to shit Subaru!

@383 chevy theres NO UPSIDE really to twin blowers or even single ones imo. turbos dont require HP to turn; blowers do! a Z06 Vette's blower uses 200hp at 6000rpm to spin it! if that were turbo u wouldnt have lost that 200hp...

I actually saw this car in real life randomly. When I say random, I mean random. He was next to us and when he took off from the light I heard the turbos. Sounded exactly like a Sauber C9 or C11. Literally the same transmission whine and twin turbo sound.

You might be surprised. R8s kind of have a weird place where they are mid engine but they aren't really super cars. You can get a very nice used V8 for $60k. Higher milage around $50k. That's the same as driving a mid range Mustang or Camaro off of the lot.

A lot of people these day are buying supercars on a normal wage. Some of them lease the cars (which isn't owning them really, lol) while others who want to highly modify their cars (like in this video) save up for a couple or a few years and spend all or almost all of their money on a cheap high end sports/entry level super car and then modify it.

Forgive me for not being more familiar with you Marcus but if you're piloting a one-off R8 V10 Twin Turbo, you're either an automotive journalist or just VERY LUCKY! And if you are knowledgeable in technical automotive subjects including things like the 4 strokes of a combustion cycle, noise produced by helical-cut gears vs straight cut gears then why didn't you realize at 2:30 that the whining/whistling sound you heard was the spooling of the turbos? I think you seemed to think it was a gearbox/drivetrain noise..?

It's funny. The turbo whistle isn't from blow off valves and waste gates. It's caused by the excess air squeezing passed the blades. Love the car though.
