The whole "preferred area and the not-so-preferred area" idea is a nice way to showcase the build's weaknesses as well as it's strengths. A lot of the D2 build videos on youtube are just people frothing at the mouth over their cool characters. Now, if you ever do a hammerdin guide, you should do a Maggot Lair run as part of the video ;)

You can actually "aim" Armageddon btw. If you put your back to the walls in the tunnels the Armageddon can only go in front of you. If you happen to be in a corner vs extra fast invaders this works very well. And firestorm would have killed diablo twice as fast haha. Very good guide let's make druids great again!!!

Yeah most people don't realize that Firestorm's tooltip DPS is based off of the enemy standing in 3 tiles of fire. So large enemies end up standing in as many as 14 fires for basically 5x the tooltip DPS.

As a Druid main since he came out with LoD I approve every point you made,very good build. Update:The Ravenlore added points to raven is good as well,ravens are at the start of the tree and they blind your enemies that boosts your survival ability.

13:35 once i saw a build with a phase blade 6 sockets of fire perfect rainbow facets, the minimal touch of a fissure was almost instant kill and very similar build to this one.

I ran my pvp fire druid with a 6 facet phase blade, faceted ravenlore and a faceted stormshield. 6.8k fissure and a 17k Armageddon was a lot of fun.

Now that Diablo 2 R is out, I've been playing hybrid fire summoner. Max volcano and it's synergies with a maxed grizzly, proven to be plenty viable on hell.

Also 20 fissure 20 volcano, 20 tornado, 15 cyclone, rest hurricane, quite works (with 1 in oak and grizzly). No problem in hell chaos with just self found gear. (and you also do not stand like a moron as in kzbin.info/www/bejne/hJmVqpKgf7mMpZI)

Ever tried a hybrid with fissure and a Grizzly (no geddon obviously)? Lower FCR bp to get Beast as a stat stick, and Hear of Wolverine instead of Oak for a super strong merc and bear. Grizzly might do comparable damage to geddon and it diversifies your damage type.

Now try a more phys dmg focus version by maxing molten boulder too and using that with volcano and getting more plus skills and sans infinity. Suprised to not see volcano used at all in this vid. My current fire druid i got lucky and found a 3os pelt with 3 volcano and 3 armageddon so i saved a lot of prereq points and put more into bear. Best way to utilize geddon is by running so that all meteors fall in a more consistant line behind you. Either way maxing boulder instead of armageddon will go a long way towards fire immunes.

Volcano would help a bit, but its phys damage simply isn't very high compared to your merc. So you have to ask yourself: is it worth the tradeoff of losing massive fire damage for a little bit of phys damage? You're probably throwing away clear time.

Pop a Volcano under those pesky fire immunes, gives you something to do instead of waiting for your merc to do it all haha. Physical/Fire hybrid skill :)

Wouldn't Volcano be a better skill to use on bosses like Diablo? Fissure feels similar to blizzard where mobs passing through get hit more so it's annoying against high hp less mobile targets.

Yeah, molten boulder is underrated especially in linear situations like Pindle and the tunnels in the lost city because of the knockback it provides.

@@mickpratt8327 Molten Boulder is a waste of a cast delay since you can just use a real damaging fire spell and fill with Twisters if you need the CC.

@@matornot most druid players aren't playing a wind druid the first time they see Pindle, Diablo and Baal. When you're playing a fire druid on your first playthrough the Molten Boulder knockback had practical appilications.

Only reason they are superior is because they are easier to gear and play. Played with a dueled with my own fire druid and several other high end fire druids and they can clear and pvp just as a good as a wind druid.

I feel embarassed. I tried to make a wind druid and had quite a good go until NM act 3. Level 58 and I died like 5 times within 20 mins to the blooming explosive dolls in Durance of hate. Despite the armor etc. I want to cry. It seems, that I am able to run D2 through only with female characters. Assassin, Sorceress and Amazon - all of them had reached to the level of 80+without no trouble.... I bow down before the masters :) On the bonus side, my mf sorc just got the third SOJ from AT (three SOJ-s over timespan of approx. 1 year) .

I run a wind druid but use a grizzly tank. When you see an approaching mob or are in the Durance of Hate you cast your bear between you and the mob. It works great for crowd control decoying.
