You put out stuff like this all the time. And while you’re not wrong, What do you think you’re preparing for? What’s the reality that they will actually be involved in some real conflict? Do you not watch the news of every day people who don’t do as much training who still manage to pull off defending themselves and surviving? Let’s talk facts. Have you ever served? If it wasn’t for those 80%, the 10% wouldn’t even survive. You would be outgunned. Outnumbered. Even the Navy seals in the special operators would be nothing without the support elements who don’t do the fighting.

Great point. The 80% are moved into support roles, they aren't lead to believe they made for anything other than that. That being said, the military context is dramatically different than the most common aggravated assaults outside of gang warfare, which are overwhelmingly ambush style assaults with some kind of impact weapon. In addition, 80% of all assaults are simple assaults or simple batterie, where lethal force isn't even justified. The biggest problem, in our view, is the false sense of security that comes with the lower 90% being overtly or covertly let to believe they can successfully defend themselves against the most common types of aggravated assaults. The Dunning Kruger effect clearly states, that people of low ability suffer from an illusory superiority and a metacognitive inability to perceive their own ineptitude. This is a very big problem. We appreciate your thoughtful comment - this kind of dialog drives the paradigm forward.
