This gives me high hopes for my Bigniu BG-X build because I'm going with 60v62.5ah and 5k motor with I'm thinking of going with a ASI BAC 4k but I'm starting with a 100a risun controller and I'm hoping to do 55+ so if this is getting to 50 I'm happy for my build. Great job buddy

I could see many reasons for voltage ramping to protect the torque on the plastic motor gears, the battery inrush amp’s , and heat generation in the motor and controller.

i have the same thing on my bike, it is a dual motor bike but is still not fast until past 15mph. the manufacturer told me it was to preserve the battery and prevent overheating on the controllers. I am cool with it as it means i am not doing a burnout down the road every time i accelerate.

I've got about 2k miles on the motor goat V3. When I buy a new bike it will be an eride or something similar. If I was new to the scene maybe I would consider this bike

I don't think Goat owners are that impressed by this bike. At the cost of $2000 more and going about 4mph faster but with much less range per amperage battery, I don't think it's worth it. Plus Goat's are much more upgradable with the 50-60ah frame battery add on which destroys it even more on range. If u want the most mini motorcycle looking ebike around, then this is that for sure.

So I travel across the George Washington bridge pretty much daily. I do need something that I can register and that can exceed speeds of 45+ miles per hour. The problem is that these types of bikes are under 150 lb and the risk of wind and other vehicles whipping by me on such a bridge becomes dangerous. I cannot rely on the bike path because they close it down quite often. I do not want to drive a vehicle with a clutch!

You probably should go with something like the Ryvid Outset, Land Moto District, or Naxeon I AM. Basically an actual electric motorcycle.

@joshread3740 You're absolutely right I did look at all of those. I think I'm going to go with the Super SOCO TC Max. I can get it in New York from fly e-bike for under 3 Grand and it has a max speed of 60 mph.

Same thing down in Florida. I have the motor goat V3 and the wind is what affects me the most. In 25+ MPH winds, you really miss the weight of a motorcycle

the slow take off could be the motor windings? it might be a fast wind motor where its got the top speed But accelerates slower on the low end. Usually the ASI BAC controllers are not user programmable, only the "dealer" has access to programming it. So the guy doin 30$ tunes is questionable Lmao. I doubt there is any way to program the controller better than Lyric did, unless they went really conservative with the phase amps, i cant see why they would. My guess is its a fast motor winding. The bike looks clean AF i dont think it needs to prove anything off road Lol we all know how that will go..

Someone said that changing the settings to the mode which has 3 speed settings (instead of 5 or 9) disables the slow start and the bike will have full power off the line.

2000w continuous is all that controller is rated for, and that's at 48v. That is not great. The BACdoor software is now locked down for like dealers and reps only I believe. That is a huge negative for those of us that are experienced FOC controller users. That is a very overpriced Canadian controller that is rated for 200 peak PHASE amp not line amps. That was an awful lot of voltage sag for what is essentially maybe an 80 amp controller. Oof. That's disappointing.

@@zentechnician there are a lot of people with access to backdoor for the ASI. My buddy is the king with them and if you know what your doing they can produce and they are made with the best components inside.

@oldmanebikes8392 yes I understand people still have the old version etc and if you hunt around it's easy enough to find. I do not care for that policy. I understand a bunch of idiots go in the app change things they don't understand and then they burn ui a controller and then the company has to deal with them trying to make it the companies fault. When you buy something it's yours. If there is software of any kind required you should be able to get it without having to sign up for anything and without needing a professional to assist. These kinds of problems could be solved by providing proper documentation and having easy modes that change multiple settings at once. Even something as poorly documented and poorly translated as a Fardriver has a non pro mode with sliders to make life easier for people that don't understand how these motors work. Honestly they should have easy mode and a pro mode and if you unlock the pro mode it nullifies the warranty. Then it would be all on the user and maybe that user would do a little more reading before they start cranking up the amps and entering some ridiculous numbers in to field weakening and melting the phase wires to the motor. I believe the Grin phaserunner is just a rebadged ASI controller. You may actually be able to use that. If you what protocols the controller uses you can always use an Arduino but who wants to go through all that when the software has been available to users fur many years? When they start locking everything down like that it's just bad policy. Change the warranty policy don't lock out your more experienced users. I don't want to hunt for a key to open a lock I allegedly own. There's gotta be an app for this bike.. Right? That would be one of the first things I would look at. Throw the battery on charge and explore the app so you have an idea of what you have available. Most people don't even know how to set up regen properly and they are killing their brake pads when they could just have the bike start braking when you let off the throttle...it's regen it doesn't use up the battery. When you have an extremely fast and heavy bike you better use regen or you better buy brake pads by the case. It's very easy to lockout or set ranges for settings in firmware so people aren't doing stupid things. A little question mark next to each setting that explains what it is is not a hard thing to do. The bike is a bit disappointing. All the waiting people have done and they get 2000 watts? Ugh. That bike is so slow off the line that it's dangerous. He zipped in front of those cars at the light and then took iofc at half the speed of smell and I was waiting for the road rage to pop out it's ugly head. That issue is easily fixed in software. Adjust throttle start and stop voltages and the response curve. I probably wouldn't change the amperage since that battery is sagging so bad. It should not be sagging that many volts for 2000w. That's a decent sized battery and that is at the most 80 line amps to that controller. Something isn't right or those are really crap cells. The bike is new so there will be issues but power should not be one. Maybe he just didn't plug it in good. Having the same port to charge and discharge is very lazy on their part. Common port is fine but at least have a second connector to charge in parallel. An xt60 would be just fine but I'm sure they would go with the 3 wire version so the charger has a thermistor connection. I'm not impressed. I expected more. That thing is so slow I would be bored to death anyway but people have been waiting and waiting and here it is over hyped and under delivering. Previous models were better. Usually you strive to improve don't you? I feel like they are cashing in on previous good products and they phoned this one in. That's just my opinion.

And no there is no app for the bike so you need access to backdoor to do anything with it. I'm going to try to hook John up with my boy to get It tuned better. But time will tell I fell sorry for all these guys that paid that and I bet they change it in the future Thats if they put a better battery on it. That battery would be ok for like 50a but with that sag it's useless to me. Molicels are getting cheaper so these high end bikes need to start using them. If that want to charge over 4k for a bike.

@oldmanebikes8392 if you build your own batteries the best deal right now is on batteryhookup. 21700 Samsung cells 30 or 35a continuous if you buy a box of 20 it's like $36. 3000ma and they are brand new and individually boxed. Resting voltage 3.53 on every cell I tested so they are golden . I'm hitting 100mph very quickly with 20s10p. QS273 and 72680 Fardriver in the rear and 1500w motor up front w VESC 75100.. I can pull the front wheel up at almost any speed. I'm into that whole hold on for your life thing. lol Always build your own bike. I have several and they are all crazy fast and unique. I really need to make some videos on these things

Careful with that fender it may be possible for it to get caught on some bikes lock up the wheel and throw you over the handlebars

That bike is way overpriced. Great review! I went with an Emma 3.0 and am happy with it; handlebars are higher. I wish it went to 45 mph with better pickup but I get to 33 mph; my weight is about 288 lbs.

I think the company is concerned that you have to build a bicycle that is safe for a douchebag to get on, basically. Until the law adapts to awesome e-bikes. I would love to see a class 4 that is a scooter license. Surety bond for insurance, get it inspected and then you can rip like a scooter anywhere in the USA.
