I'm glad to see an honest story, and not like many others, who post their best work and pretend that 100% of clients are satisfied. At some point, I got tired of talking to clients and editing their videos. Now, I only shoot videos without editing or work as an additional camera operator. If you promote yourself, I think you can live well. You shoot your footage, hand it over, get paid, and that's it. No editing, no revisions... it even becomes easier to breathe.

I can imagine that. I also thought about that way. But at the moment I'm still dependent on the money I do with the editing.

Talking bad about 9 to 5 is standard, but I was also in your industry and I saw a lot of camera operators that had no girlfriend because of their working hours. And if your friends work during the week and you have to work during the weekend, it‘s also not optimal. There is also a lot of downside to it, in this specific industry. What is cool, is that you are everyday somewhere else, seeing cool stuff. But that is also a downside if you want to build an own family. And I saw so so sooo many camera operators struggle with that.
