Even after all these years it is thrilling to see those first sprouts poking out of the mix/soil.🤗🥰

I am happy you said we could sift regular potting soil. I do that so I don't have to have so many different products I need to store. and save some money. I plant so many seedlings. I have purchased a number of expensive soil mix being discontinued for 8:48 almost nothing. I bought everything they had left. It is a professional mix and has mostly peat moss. But some of the perlite is on the large size with some small sticks. So far I have been delighted with the results. I do agree with everything else you talked about.

Its because of Bridgette's previous videos, who knew you had to fertilize you seedling. Lol. If you follow her hints you will get a much result. I'm very new to gardening and I feel much more confident after watching her videos. ❤

Seems to contradict one of the earlier videos with one of your guys who used sifted ocean forest as a starting mix.

How often and for how long do you bottom water?
@juneramirez85809 сағат бұрын
You water when the mix turns lighter tan on top. When you first bottom water you will see the top layer turn a darker color. Your plants are now watered enough.. You can very lightly touch the top and feel it is wet. It will stick to your finger. Keep it slightly watered until the seeds germinate. If you use a moisture dome that first bottom watering will keep the plants watered enough for a while. Keep a watch as it starts to turn lighter and give it another day or two before you bottom water again. It is all hit and miss in the beginning we need to always observe.

Yes to the above. Its helpful to lift the cells and check for weight, too! Pro-tip for later on... after germ, you can't rely on color anymore because the top dries out before the bottom where the roots are. If you water every time its light brown on top, you'll over water.
