Stims unlock pretty early. That means for more than half of the game it’s a wasted unlock. Also, you can mimic the functionality with the enforcer specialty, also with the guardian perk (in some game modes), and the warcry field upgrade is basically 15 seconds of stim for you and up to 5 teammates. Technically you can use morphine injector roughly like a stim, too. And … if you play hardcore stims don’t really do much. So, for about half of multiplayer the stim is useless … plus for more than half you’ll be high enough level to have it unlocked.

Tac mask was one of my top 3 unlocks especially for hardpoint and ranked play. Also get used to using a thermal sight on your firearm for smoke. It’s a mad world out there.

The chopper gunner is a very solid perma unlock as it's one of the most solid high tier killstreaks in the game. Even if you're bad at multiplayer and might get it once in a lifetime, you can also unlock them for zombies since they're huge help on exfils. Also do shock charges get countered by the shadow perk? The perk description is very brief yet unclear what it counters, unlike the others.

Run scavenger instead of quartermaster. Scavenger is very over powered right now. You can get 4 or even 5 sets of your lethals and tacticals in a single life, plus always be full on ammo. Both quarter master and scavenger offer you less with the axe because you can pick up the axe. That part of your build doesn’t work together really well.

@ perk greed should be the first unlock for pretty much everyone. You mentioned it. That gives access to a fourth perk. The first slot has the most powerful perks. Ninja is huge. But, it depends on the map and the game mode. Biggest in free for all with so few people on a map. In many game modes you can do without it. 10v10 it matters less. It also matters less on small maps (there’s always someone coming). Scavenger is also huge. It’s basically danger close, plus tactical expert, plus assault pack. It’s stronger than assault pack WITH gearhead. It’s more useful in some game types (very big in kill order where you walk over a body anyhow). It also synergizes well with assassin for points. Flak jacket is huge. Even works in hardcore. It’s especially a big deal in defensive modes. Dexterity is trash and mostly doesnt do anything. Gung-ho is mostly only good for LMG and even then not great. Ghost can be good, it’s easy to do without though (scout pulse is minor). Tac mask is situational (play without it for a while and you’ll see less value in it). It’s three hugely powerful perks. And, you can have up to two of them at once.

Im prestige 3 perk greed first, then as val, then stim shot. Nearly on 4th defo going ninja. The only reason I haven’t got ninja is I’m playing a lot of nuke town and to be honest the footsteps are the least of my worries 😂. I loved unlocking the val but you’re right I golded it fairly quick and don’t use it much anymore. Without trying to camo grind I realised I’m not far off doing the ar’s so I’m going for that now 😂🤦‍♂️

Another worthwhile mention is Overkill for Warzone players. It's literally the most important unlock for Warzone class flexibility. Sure, you'll want classes with Gunfighter because that will allow you to get the best build possible on your guns, but you're gonna want at least 1 class with Overkill to be your "Quick grab" class in situations where you need to hit the loadout crate and grab 2 guns immediately. If you don't care about Warzone, however, Overkill is a non-factor. There is absolutely no situation in MP where having 2 primaries is better than 1 extra perk or 8 attachments.

Save gearhead until after you have perk greed. The throwing axe is REALLY strong. Better in some game modes. Bad choice for hardcore games though. If you haven’t used the throwing axe in kill order missions for the HVT give that a try. Takes them out from fully armored in one shot Perk greed was my first. Gearhead was second. I think the axe was my third or fourth unlock (i wanted something with zombie utility, too). You’re right to focus on high level stuff and to ignore weapons!

You would want to unlock Tac-Mask and Flack Jacket first due to the sheer ammount of grenade spam youll die from playing all objective-based games. Specially om small maps where the grenade spam is obnoxious. These 2 perks are way more importsnr than any other

At 41 it's sufficiently late and every prestige I dedicate 1 class for taking down streaks. Now it's there when I need it. Also, solo and frequently join late.

I’m on prestige 9. I feel like after 4 or so it doesn’t even matter anymore. You get so used to making do with limited build options. Plus … I think at 10 everything is just always unlocked. I have multiple unused unlocks right now. Skill matters a lot more than most of the unlocks. And … it just doesn’t take too long to unlock it all. I think my average time to complete a prestige is like … 19 hours. For people who play less that’s like … 2 hours a day for about a week and a half.

I’ve not gotten a lot of d-sync issues after the first week. If you win more you get harder lobbies. In those harder lobbies there will be people who shoot you faster. There are also a LOT of cheaters.

I'm on prestige 4 now and i did Gunfighter, Cold Blooded, Ninja, Perk Greed in that order. Gunfighter first because in the early levels before you're able to unlock most of your gear for your classes, you really only have your weapon to rely on, so i wanted to be able to fully kit out my weapons as soon as i prestige. Cold Blooded next because, as a solo player, i just don't want to have to deal with automated killstreaks. Ninja next because that gives me access to Recon specialty at lv 1 (and Recon is the last specialty you get to unlock by default leveling up). Perk Greed next because now i have a good justification to unlock the ability to equip 4 perks. I was going to do Gearhead at prestige 5, since score doesn't accelerate your field upgrade charge rate. So yeah, we're pretty much seeing eye-to-eye there. Not sure what i'd do at 6th prestige yet. I'm thinking SAM Turret but i'm hesitant to commit to a scorestreak since those can also get skins (though it doesn't have a skins tab, so i'm not sure if that means it'll never get one or if it just means there isn't one for it yet).

Perk greed... i realized how stupid I was afterwards only having 3 perks available to me (shadow perk helped out on p3) Once I levled up a bit... especially when you unlock ghost, bankroll, dispatcher... early on... after that it's smooth sailing. 3. Forward intel.... I hate surprises 4. Coldblooded... I should've picked ninja 5. < This time I'll pick ninja 6.-7 (blast trap, danger close wildcard) /w quartermaster or Prepper wildcard & Gearhead (to spam land mines & scramblers 8-10: Stim shot, shock charge, sleeper agent (My spring mine fucked me over hard)

I have unfortunately stopped playing BO6 for now. I defo wasn't bad, average 1.7E/D and even hit a number of games with a 2 to 3 E/D, but just found it frustrating with the inconsistency of gunfights and how I didn't feel like I could experiment a huge amount without having a major detriment to my enjoyment. It felt like it was meta or nothing. I also am not a fan of how much camping there is. There's a whole movement system and people just sit in a corner and hold a trigger - I found the same frustration with the occasional camper in Titanfall 2. I will definitely keep up with news, ETC, but I might not come back in for a few months

I strongly recommend using skill based matchmaking to your advantage. Take a bad gun into stakeout 24/7 and try to get headshots then go into a normal playlist. You will eventually get put in a recruit bot lobby and it genuinely feels like cheating

@BoxPounder I get why you say that and appreciate the suggestion, but I find more satisfaction in losing a fair fight than winning an unfair one. These "bot" lobbies are often first timers, children probably too young to be playing and those who have just gotten off work or something. That's probably the problem with what level I am at in BO6, it mostly doesn't feel like fair fights

I don't mind campers... because I admire different playstyles. I use to camp.. using blast traps, mines, shock charges, lure's.. it's definitely not meta, but it takes more patience... being able to help the team without dying and keep a postive kd... is beneficial when playing tdm. It's low-skill level play, but I don't judge. ^ It's definitely not a high-kill build because you have to run certain perks & with the nature of people running around like chickens... it helps even out the playing field for the less-skilled, while still being able to help the team win & contibute. ^ Now I run akimbo saug... and adapted blast traps / mines into my own style of run & gun without running the perks like Quartermaster or gearhead... & other wild cards to make it viable off-meta playstyle. ^ If i die to a trap... it's my fault for not paying attention... it may piss me off at times, but I know traps aren't a gauranteed kill on most maps because you can easily out-omnimove them if you're running red perks, shadow, or flak jacket... to not die. ^Traps punishes people who don't certain perks... and helps balance out everyone not running the same damn perks. Campers help even out the run n gunning people that are terrorizing the team with 25-50 kills in a single tdm match. Camping is more for leveling up a gun that you never used, learning maps, learning choke-points, etc... A major problem I have with camping... (on non-objective modes) is if the whole team is doing it and refuses to budge... causing the enemy team to always march to their death (if they're already losing) like on the train map, red card, scud, vorkuta, nuketown... it's annoying as hell when you're the one that has to advance to get the game over with. ^ I can understand doing it on domination or hardpoint... creating chokeholds and what not, but on tdm or kill confirmed... it's blashemy. I adapted to the meta of the game while keeping some of semi-camp playstyle of placing traps & mines.. to punish other run n gunners who don't run shadow or flak jacket... + it comes in handy when you don't want to climb a latter, go into a certain room, or suiciding bombing attempt a room full of 2-4 peoples.

(Most of the useful perks like Gun-ho, Dex, Double-time, dispatcher, ghost, bankrolll < are unlocked on the lower levels) < basically great for tdm, kill confirmed Tak mask & gearhead feels more like a situational objective perks < but still useful just not to the point where I'm willing to give it a perk slot 90% of the time. 5. Gunfighter < This could be your number 1 as it's very versatile for guns 6-10 (pick whatever you enjoy using that is high up the lvls like Stim shot, blast trap, shock charge, sleeper angent, or other perks that suit your playstyle) (Scorestreaks... unless you're dropping 25-40kills or able to keep a 1.5 or higher in every match... it feels like a waste of a presitge unlock) ^ I usually average 20-25 kills a match and sometimes pull off 30+, but I haven't been able to pull of a harp yet.

Agree. I used mine on perk greed and one of the green perks I forget which one. Reason being I almost exclusively use all green perks to get the xp bonus. That lets me get the xp bonus basically immediately after prestiging. Then Ninja because I find it helps complete so many random daily challenges when you can sneak up on people from behind to headshot or stun or flash and kill.

IMO, the unlock points with the Blueprint system is a little goofy. They could’ve locked the bp’s based on rarity, to make the unlock tokens more relevant. I’m P6 and only used 2 lol. AS VAL, and Aether Shroud, both I used out of impatience. I see no need the use the rest, because of bp’s. Thanks for the info on the perks, I seriously didn’t realize these synergies they have. Thank goodness someone reads, ‘cause I sure didn’t! 😂

@@culturalrot I’m on prestige 10 and it’s not unlocked for me as a blueprint. I see it for sale in The Replacer bundle and the Iron Crusader bundle. Not having it unlocked definitely isn’t an issue. You just hang out at level 55 for a bit and earn a few camos and then move on. Then when you get to 55 again you hang out and get a few more camos. You get diamond in no time. Personally, it’s my least favorite assault rifle. The goblin WAS tied for least favorite. But, the goblin is really strong in hardcore functioning like a marksman rifle or sniper rifle with faster time to fire. Unlocking a weapon feels like a bad idea. I have several unused unlocks (it’s really only the first 3-5 that matter) and I still wouldn’t spend one on a weapon.

I just started prestige 9. I currently have multiple unspent unlocks and it’s just not a big deal. The only ones that matter are the first 3-4 you get. Perk greed and gearhead is a really powerful early combo. Perk greed doesn’t do much until you have a STRONG four set of perks to use. Unlocking weapons is a really bad idea. Focus on things you use in critical builds that unlock late. That build you have will work just fine without the AS Val or whatever. So, i’s not critical. You know what MAY make or break. Build? Sleeper agent. Figure out the core that makes. Build possible. Focus on late level unlocks. I have a build unique for free for all matches that is incredibly strong for that mode and doesn’t work as well elsewhere. I ended up unlocking MOST of those things just because I had 4 unused unlocks and needed to spend things. Most stuff just doesn’t matter. Most people make trash builds. Most people play with badly outfitted weapons. Skill (or a lack of it) is the biggest factor.

As a returning player who hasn't played for years I'm having a hard time deciding what perks are even worth using, I'm mostly playing team deathmatch I just used my token on a marksman rifle as I'm basically just using flash bangs, frags and assault packs, ghost is my most used perks but a lot of matches the other team doesn't get many UAVs so I'm torn on whether it's really worth it Do you think the specialist are worth it (was thinking enforcer just for health regen) Any tips on which perks and tacticals will get me the most score on TD or free for all game modes?

At this point call of duty is the most rigged game of all time. Skill based damage, amplified skill based matchmaking, and other hidden features of EOMM. IT MAKES ZERO SENSE THAT A GAME SHOULD BE RIGGED AND THAT I'M BEING HELD BACK BY HIDDEN CODES WITHIN THE GAME.

Level 40 or 41 is the halfway point for XP. Each level has more XP than the last, so … level 27 is NOT the halfway point. Things like ninja and gunfighter are really strong. They also unlock early. This means it’s a waste of an unlock for MORE than half of your playtime. Yeah? If it unlocks at level 35 it’s ONLY useful from 1-34. Less than half. And from level 35-55 (more than half) you would have had it unlocked anyway.

Pro - Tip Permanently unlock everything by not going prestige. You don’t get anything remotely worth what you lose and literally nobody gives a crap about your prestige level.
