A video produced by Cathy O'Dowd's sponsor, MoraBanc, about her part in the team that did the first ascent of Nanga Parbat via the Mazeno ridge, in summer 2012.
The video footage comes from the access ridge, between 5000 and 6500 metres. The still photos come from the Mazeno ridge and above.

Apart from leaving fellow climbers behind! She hasn’t the soul of a real mountaineer. Selfishness on a mountain will cause deaths. As she proved.

How much it cost for this kind of expeditions?
@mammutit
@mammutit 5 жыл бұрын
It depends on how much youre willing to spend, there are two main types of climbing , alpine and expedition . alpine means you do it yourself with as little as possible gear to do it quickly. expedition means you bring sherpas and tables and all sorts of stuff and ofcourse pay for the expedition members. Do you deposit 10 000 dollars for an eventual helicopter rescue ? somewhere between 50-150 000 dollars is the range roughly

Rija Malik, I am aware that K2 is in the Karakoram Range (the Indus River divides the two mountain ranges) from what I've read and heard, it can be seen from a distance, but I was just wondering if she (Cathy) saw it from the top of Nanga Parbat.

Wring Cathy. “As long as just one member of the team summits we’ve done it”. That should read…if she were a true mountaineer…”As long as we all come back alive we’ve succeeded”. For the obvious reason and this reason. The mountain dictates whether we little humans summit. Success is totally out of our hands. I wish she would stop bragging. She left her climbing partners to die in the past. That’s everything that’s wrong with mountaineering these days.
