7:51 : I like how, due to the lack of commas or "and", the cover gives the impression that the comic also features a single character named Electro Ka-Zar the great masked raider. I feel like perhaps a robotic version of Ka-Zar who also wears a mask while raiding would have been better then all 3 of the individuals characters. Anyway, found your channel yesterday, proud to say I was your 102nd subscriber, quite enjoying this content, hope your channel continues to grow!

Next to Torch, Namor and Ka-Zar Electro was always one of my favourites. Philo Zog is is fun

The text pieces were included so the publisher could classify their comics as "magazines", thus qualifying for cheaper postage rates. They truly didn't care about them, so no one should feel bad about skipping them. Ol' Stan did get his start by writing one in Captain America though, and occasionally they are not the worse prose diversions ever.

They also get marginally more interesting later, including hero crossovers and origin stories. And Mickey Spillane wrote a couple in his early days

Mickley Spillane and Patricia Highsmith both wrote for comics in the Golden Age.

The art for Little Hercules looks like E. C. Segar of Popeye fame.

That's because it was by Bud Sagendorf, who went on to take over Popeye for like 40 years. He made good stuff!

29:00 Electro, the robot in the red and yellow armor, is called Iron Man decades before Marvel has a character called Iron Man.

Good catch! The writers of Electro regularly refer to the robot as an "Iron Man" which is very interesting! Maybe I'll find a way to cover this in the next one.

@@ivdcomics in a future video, it woukd be great if you were s able to mention some protoypes of marvel characters and concepts. For example Stan Lee's X-men prototype first appeared in an Amazing Adult Fantasy story called "the man in the sky" and there's an Amazing Adventures story called "Dr Droom" and the character is clearly a prototype of Dr Strsnge. A far more obvious example is Tales to Astonish #36, as the character of Madame X is clearly a prototype of the Black Widow (who would appear for the first time in Tales of Suspense #52).I personally feel far more comic book historians should talk about the prototype versions.
