I said in the video that if you set a filter it should tag things as junk as you pick them up and I think I was wrong. Set your filter the way you want but you will still need to do R3 to do the actual tag. Sorry about that.
I found it easiest to filter by type first before doing any more filtering, so i could focus on one thing at a time. It was less confusing.
The Filter All As Junk is an AND filter. All three of the conditions must be met. Note that the 3rd filters are added through Research, so if you haven't applied anything, then you don't have anything.
Weapons - if you set Filter in the weapons screen, it will tag all weapons that qualify as you pick them up, which makes it faster when selling.
Reactors - same.
Components - same.
So say you want to tag all common weapons, level 5 and lower. The weapon filter would be:
Common, 5, include/exclude (doesn't matter at this level since you won't have applied any).
Once the settings are set, back on the main sell screen, choose R3 to "designate all as junk". That's the part that will tag based on your settings.

Being low level means ALL of this basic stuff is fresh in your head so you won’t forget issues to address that higher level content creators do when they make beginner vids. Very helpful video since I was just dismantling things in my inventory and wouldn't really get anything in return

Well, you do get liquid metal and super alloy for dismantling the weapons and then those in turn go into researching things like phase exchangers, which are used with the Weapon Transmission at the Repair Stations. I'm in Agna Desert and have over 3 million in $$ and I never sold anything after this video. :)

@@Thomie99 That's ok! Weapon Transmission is a really nice feature. It's most useful with any unique weapon you craft since those aren't found out in the wild, whereas the others really are so it's easier to just find higher levels of those. But you need to craft the Phase Exchangers for it.
