Great demo and playing, Pat ! I bought my D+ in 1974. Naturally it was the script version with just a battery and no LED. I played out with it using my black Gibson Les Paul Custom through my Fender Super 6 Reverb. As the years went by I sold all that gear. Who would imagine that in the future they would increase in value.

Dude I understand completely!! I sold my 240D Benz for 1000 bucks, now they are asking upwards of 5k for them! Also… my block letters Peavey 5150 🤦🏻♂️. Sold it for 600!!

It's not a bad pedal at all!! It's a classic for a reason! Thanks for your support my bro! Glad you still enjoy them! 😁

My boi did everything but tune the fiddle good vid brother

Haha yup! I hate it when that happens. New strings go out of tune all the time 🤦🏻♂️. I’ll make sure I stretch the hell out of them next time. I must have tuned the guitar 4 times during the recording of the video. I hope it wasn’t too bad that it annoyed you all… 😅😅

In 1974 I had a Sound City 120 and a Marshall cab. When I bought this pedal I loved it but probably everyone in my neighborhood loved it more due to the volume not having to be so loud

Haha 😆. Yup! Probably saved you a lot of trouble 😅😅

This was my first pedal in 1985...but unfortunately I gave it away... I will buy it again and I will use it together with a rat pedal or a fuzz pedal for doom and stoner sounds, especially with low tuned guitars.

Hell yeah! It’s a classic for a reason…

Bought one in the 90’s or 2000’s plus DOD Overdrive 250. They are very similar and to me sound a little muddy, especially with no tone control.
@PatPosse2 ай бұрын
That’s true. They would definitely benefit from a tone knob. Although I will say that, the more gain you have, they brighter they sound…

Sounded a bit flubby in this example but I feel like the Plexi setup had too much low end anyway. Always kinda wanted one of these but I have a bunch of Proco Rats and from what I can gather they are nearly identical in circuit (minus the filter knob) so I never pulled the trigger. Personally, would be more excited to see bands using other gear like this over the standard 5150, TS9 and Vintage 30 4x12.

After editing it I can definitely agree that it had too much bottom end from the get go. It sounded fine in the room but once I got editing I was all like “oh shittttt” lol. I like trying out new stuff I’m getting sick of the cookie cutter “modern” sound as well…
