Bob, Paul and the team - your programme has got me through hard times and elevated good times - it's a pure joy. It's the best thing the Beeb have done for many years. Each episode is a work of art, a soothing balm to the troubles of life, an ode to friendship and nature and of course, contains at least two laugh-at-the-screen moments (often more!). I always laughed hard at/with you both as a teenager, and now get to enjoy this golden dusk in my middle-age! Please don't stop making it. I teach foreign students and use clips in class, not only for examples of language, but also to show them the real beauty of these islands - they all love it! The most common question I get asked is, 'Is Paul Bob's son?'

I took up fishing with a profound disability because of this show. I’m not old and dying of spine disease which is really painful. I manage to get out a little bit with help and I really enjoy being out…I’ve got heart stents in due to my scoliosis putting pressure on my chest…I’m only 42 too, but hey ho. My absolute dream would be to spend a day out with these two…it would be like meeting Santa!

If it wasn't for fishermen there wouldn't be any fish and the water would be polluted. The money for a fishing licence payment goes to The Environment Agency. If it wasn't for fishermen the fish would already be dead, you wouldn't like that!

I love this. I don't fish, but I love being out and about in the countryside. And when I'm feeling a bit diwn, I put on your show and it cheers me up no end. I am a Cumbria lass now living in Sweden and I do miss the the fells. Have you thought about fishing Buttermere, Crommock or Lowswater. I think you would be pleasantly supprised. Great pubs too! OK Bob and the other nice chap. Your next challenge (from the/your people) is to catch and kill a big Pike like Greg Ovens. And make a tasty soupsong meal. No bones. Another great challenge for the back-burner is, Go to Stately parks and Lakes in the middle of the night and shout at Polish Taxi Drivers trying to catch massive Carp for Christmas Diner. Being a lake width distance is deemed safe for this sport/hobby.
