This amazing and scary at the same time. At this point, figure skating is basically flying without a parachute

The flying without a parachute made me laugh out loud 😂

I know the "quadg0d" sounds a bit full of himself but I'm pretty sure it's tongue in cheek. And to be fair all the high quality clips of him doing insane quad combinations - 4T+4T, 4T+Eu+4S, 3Lz+4Lo
@IceCoachOnline2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I'm pretty sure it's "tongue in cheek" as he often seems to post entertaining captions etc. When I spoke with him before posting this video, he seemed like a really down to earth, nice guy. And yes, the quad combinations he does are crazy! He will undoubtedly make a huge impact on the future.

"quadg0d" OMG. That's a bit... But that height of the jump? I'm really impressed - seems legitimate. If it is, however, I hope he didn't achieve it the same way Russian female skaters do their quadruples, though...

I was very impressed myself. I look forward to seeing how he gets on this season. I'm sure he has been well trained and his body is healthy, I haven't heard anything to suggest otherwise from friends coaching around the world👍

Have you seen Ilia’s 4Lz? He has some of the best, if not the best, technique among either the men or the women. 1/4 or less prerotation and fully rotated on landing. Amazing

And he landed in competition 🙂 officially, a god :-)

So why did you make Hanyu the title page but not Malinin?
@ashuraalexis2 жыл бұрын
Because in his case we have clear pictures of the quad axel sequence, so I guess it's easier to make a cover image with it than a grainy low resolution video.

One is in ISU competition , one is in practice.

Thanks for explaining it in your opinion...I love both Yuzu and Ilia and I just worry that it might be misunderstanding or something else😭

@AshuraA is absolutely right. As hanyu was the only person to give it a go on the biggest stage of figure skating competitions, It left me with very limited options when trying to make a quick and effective thumbnail.

It seems there is a quarter pre-rotation before his takeoff in his axel
@AT-jm4dl2 жыл бұрын
It's the same amount of pre-rotation that almost everyone does in the 3A. Nothing unusual. Totally acceptable.
@IceCoachOnline2 жыл бұрын
I agree 👍
@biscuitcase832 жыл бұрын
That's minimal compared to many quads attempted these days
@paolocastellano3432 жыл бұрын
Wong Chi Fat, most Axel takeoffs are 1/2 revolution pre-rotation. Ilia's is the cleanest I have ever seen... For example, Hanyuhas been regarded as having one of the finest Axel techniques and his Axel take off has 1/2 turn pre-rotation.
@AT-jm4dl2 жыл бұрын
Ilia didn't step out of the 4a. It was a transition out of the 4a :)

Yuzuru hanyu is the first to complete the quad axel jump. It happened in December of 2021 there’s videos of it everywhere. Yuruzu Hanyu IS the GOAT. He doesn’t have a competitor. If I need to say one, that would be himself. Nobody skates like him. So beautifully and clean. So many world records that were broken by him. And for the past 66 years, no body has gotten the Olympic gold two times in a year! And honestly if he didn’t challenge himself into the quad axel and if he didn’t sprain his ankle attempting the jumps, no doubt, he would’ve earned his third Olympic Gold this year. No body has the courage like Yuzuru does. He jumped that quad axel with no hesitation. He put the gold metal at risk to become the first in history and guess what. Yuzuru Hanyu made history. The FIRST Quad Axel to get certified. His quad excel got certified by ISU during the 2022 Beijing Olympics.
@biscuitcase832 жыл бұрын
Wrong. His 4A has never been officially ratified in competition. And Ilia hasn't even tried it in competition yet so neither count. Certified is NOT a thing at all, that is made up lie, first spread around twitter no doubt. There is ratification, and nobody's attempts have met the requirements for that. Nobody can show that certification on the ISU records because it doesn't exist. I'm not in any way dissing Hanyu here, he's an absolute legend and I can't stand fans who hate on any skater

Artur Dmitriev actually got the first 4A certified by ISU, at 2018 Rostelecom Cup

Yuzuru’s attempt at Japan Nationals last December was better.

I am a fanyu but i don't think so. From what i've seen Ilia rotated more. Yuzuru's jnats axel was downgraded.
@Mica_T2 жыл бұрын
Hm not really. That attempt was severely underrotated so it was downgraded and it had a 2-foot landing. Ilia's attempt appears fully rotated with a stepped-out landing.
@npe12 жыл бұрын
I love Yuzuru's skating but you are wrong, Ilia's attempt is the closest so far to a cleanly landed quad axel.

Better than his Olympic's attempt? Ok, I'd give you that.

@biscuitcase832 жыл бұрын
Nobody is a wannabe 🙄 Yuzuru (or any other skater for that matter) doesn't own any jump personally and anyone can also attempt them...that's literally how the evolution of figure skating works. Certain skaters push the technical boundaries and others have to match or even exceed the standard or get left behind
