I hit the entire mp20 line as a 5 handicap and these mmc's were hands down the best. They look, feel and play like blades w/ just a touch more forgiveness with the off center hits and a marginal increase in distance w/out a huge decrease in spin.

Just hit all 3, the mmc looked like the blade at address and was as easy to hit as the hmb. Definitely my favorite of the 3.

I went for a fitting for a set of HMB’s and walked with a set of MMC’s. I was very surprised. The MMC’s has tighter dispersion and got an average of 6 more yards on the 7 iron. And the feel was so good. I’m a 16 handicap and can’t believe that it was the MMC’s that suited me best. I absolutely love them.

i went for the MB's and ended up leaving with the MMC's in a 2 degree weaker loft (traditional lofts). loved the feel and little forgiveness the MB lacked. spin launch feel ect were spot on.

Hi James! I know this is an old video but wanted to give a shout-out to you and Mizuno. I just ordered 5-6 HMB, and 7-PW MMC after a full iron fitting session [replacing Ping I3+]. These went up against other makes/models and came out on top for me. I was not aware of Mizuno golf clubs until stumbling across your channel, and your reviews have definitely influenced me. These are really great clubs. Very clean. They look a lot like Titleist AP2s to be fair. Unfortunately, these aren’t available for lefties so I’ll never be able to compare them. Nice review James.

My favorite of the three. Hit all three at a 1 hour one on one Mizuno demo day. Maybe not as pretty and MB but not far off. Ego went on the shelf where it needs to be and I ordered 5-P. Tempted to do MMC 5-7 and MB 8-P but MMC felt too good

I recently got fitted by an English pro (here in Cologne, Germany) with the Mizuno swing DNA. I played JPX 825Pro irons before, and it`s just amazing how good these new MP20 MMC irons are - I have much better numbers, the ball flies further, the ballfight is stronger and they are a pleasure to hit. Spinnumbers are good which depends on different factors. The fitting: The swing DNA suggested three shafts, and it was the shaft which was recommended as no. 2 which was great for me (Project LZ 6.0). It was interesting to see that the shaft which was no.1 (True Temper) did not really convince the pro in terms of spin numbers, so the swing DNA is a great tool to find three possibly very good shafts for your game in minutes but it is important to compare the three suggestions. It is a great and totally convincing tool because there are just so many shaft options. Shaft no.2 is a super shaft for my swing! Played with the set today and am just angry that I haven't changed clubs earlier.

Just ordered my MMCs. I really thought I would go for the MB but the MMC outperformed both. Better ball flight and sweeter sound. Can't wait to hit them lovely but will be very underated I recko ⛳

My main issue is the chrome plastic backing. My P770's had a similar plastic badge and the bag chatter damaged/dented/chipped them easily.

What matters most to each single figure handicapper? If it’s the final gross score as low as possible go MMC, if gross score is less important than the look of the clubs in your bag go MB.

I'm still gaming the MP-59 which is an older (2012?) version of MMC. Now the lofts are different. I have a 3-PW, the 3 is 21 degrees and the PW is 46. The 4 in the MP-20 MMC is 22 and the PW is 46....most of the irons are 2 degrees stronger and the 9 is only 1 degree stronger. I wonder about the gapping if I want to have a blended set with the MP-20 in say 8-PW because we're dropping from 38 in the MP-20 8-iron to 32 in the MP-20 MMC 7-iron which is a club and a half. I'd be inclined not to blend or else, weaken the 7 by a degree. What I really like about my MP-59's is that the bases on all the irons are thin which creates less friction with shots from the rough and gives me more control. I wouldn't want to give that up. I have no issue with height as my swing speed is pretty good.

Remind me a bit of my old MP59s which I loved…had a blended set with the MP69s and they were my favorite set ever in terms of feel…but the 69s were much better looking…Of the current MP20s I live the MBs and HMBs better in terms of look…still need to test them all for their performance…I’ve seen some of these selling used and it’s depressing how poorly people treat top tier soft metal irons…they were a year old and looked to be 20 years old…I have 7 year old Callaway Apex Pros that still look new…USE HEAD COVERS!!!! They pay for themselves when you trade/sell them!!

I am a 9 handicap with a pretty fast swing speed. I have been looking into the different Mizuno irons and you seem to focus on them more than other reviewers. I would like to get your opinion on a good iron for a mid-low handicapper. My swing is not consistent enough for true player irons but I do not want a oversized iron. What's your thoughts ? Could do a blended MP set. I'm an 11 and that's what I do for my irons. JPX forged/tour blended set is an option too.

I tried the HMB and MMC --I'm a 7. I hit the MMC's better. Better flight, better feel. You are being a "bag snob." The MMCs are a tweener, no doubt, but an extra 8-12 is huge.

I can see why someone in your position, that can hit a ball like you do, Would get carried away with the beauty of the mb but surely these are a better club for 99.9% of people over the mb? That little bit of help around the face and lower cg must far outweigh the fact the mb is gorgeous? It's not the like the mmc is unattractive either!

They are still cavity backs tho. Not strictly blades. Enough practice you can hit any club you wish. One day I hope to be able to hit blades but I'm far from them at the moment.

Copper is normally used a a base coat, before applying Chrome, how Mizuno can try and use that as part of their marketing is beyond me

It used to be, not really anymore. And Chris V with Mizuno said they made two sets of protos one with copper one without to try to prove there was no difference. However over 3/4 of tour players said the copper underlaid ones felt better. A copper underlay is more expensive although not by much. I think it’s more of a nostalgia factor harking back to the TN-89.
