@@jamesfiaco4922 usually anymore the docs drug screen the pregnant moms and do blood work for toxicity. And us the watchers can guess but we really don't know. Usually if the baby is bathed clean and fed and warm it will stop crying but if it doesn't then there is a problem.

Yes, absolutely! People are over the top, unnessarily! Nurses and doctors do this 100's x a day. The baby cries...some of them cry for nothing. They tremble a bit . Well their nervous system is not yet fully developed. The dad is standing right there. He didn't say anything. Why should we! Bless baby he will be fine. ❤

@lauraswann5543
@lauraswann5543 2 жыл бұрын
There actually isn't much we don't know about the baby's "transition" from womb to world. The womb is a warm safe protective environment where all the baby's needs are met, the baby listens to his mother's heartbeat, he is perfectly content. When he is born, he needs to be put on his mother's chest to hear her familiar heartbeat, and so he can be held by her. New babies experience the air on their naked skin as pain. What was done to this unfortunate child is very wrong.

These are the very first moments of this little persons life. He is frightened and bewildered. He needs to be cuddled into his mum or dad for a while until he is calm and feels secure. I don’t understand how health professionals become so fixated on their tasks that they totally ignore any instincts they might once have had. It wasn’t essential for his head to be measured at that point, she was just totally ignoring his needs.

Nurses MUST ensure the baby is breathing properly. His extremities are still bluish meaning oxygenated blood hasn’t got that far yet. The baby needs to cry at this point. Also measurements need to be taken at birth . The baby is under a warmer. Yes he will get cuddles but baby’s health is first and foremost. Eye drops must also be given right at birth to ensure that he doesn’t get infected from birth canal.

Serious note: For those of you complaining about the crying of a healthy newborn, you have NO IDEA how ****ing scary it is (for the medical team and the parents!) to hear nothing from a baby! Trust me, you don't EVER want to hear "crickets" over a newborn! Loud cries mean nice, clear airways (this little guy had just a little fluid in his chest) and no difficulties breathing! For those of you complaining about the rough handling by the nurse, get over yourself and go read up on neonatal nurse care! healthy babies are physically resilient (they just passed through a birth canal for ****'s sakes! =)) -- nurses who know what they're doing are firm but gentle! she did a good job!

The crying isn’t the problem, it’s the rough handling, no sensitivity or compassion. I’m a nurse , I deal with children all the time, it can and should be oh so different. If parents treated babies and older children the way the paediatric staff do they would be prosecuted. That is not what ‘ the caring profession’ should be about. Not only do I deal with the children who have been treated like this I also deal with the adults who are still experiencing the trauma from childhood experiences now manifesting as phobias many decades after the event….. it’s inhuman! There needs to be better education.

I don't know why so many ignorant people worry about babies crying and question the profession of nurses. For doctors, nurses and parents, a baby who does not cry loudly after birth can signal a serious condition in which the baby may be unconscious or unable to breathe on his own, which could lead to death by suffocation after birth. All babies need to cry loudly and move their limbs after birth. To drain fluid from the lungs and send oxygen-carrying blood to the extremities. And it needs to be cleaned carefully to prevent blood and amniotic fluid from causing infection to the baby.

If you come out of the safety of the womb and aren’t screeching and carrying on, you haven’t been pulled into this world. He just needs some coddling and being put in his mum’s arms. But they must check the Apgars and give the wee bit a seal of approval.

He’s sooo breathtakingly beautiful!!! I just saw the info the mother posted and she can ASSURE all of you who watched the video the baby was well taken care of and experienced nurses were tending to him.❤️. This mother had a C-Section and they were only cleaning out his airways and other details were performed to ensure his safety before leaving the hospital so don’t worry… this cutie is fine! 🎉❤ As a mom myself of my own beautiful daughters all I can say is-. Let mom celebrate the joy!!🥰❤️❤️

I wondered the same, why aren't the lights dimmed a bit so they don't shock their eyes. Maybe newborns need some special glasses. I don't even like bright lights when I wake up. Look at this sweet baby's eyes, he tries to open but with a bit of a struggle. He is probably on the chilly side too. My heart goes to this baby. So cute even when he cries.

So different in the UK... Baby is wiped over quickly and then immediately (unless medical complications prohibit) put on mum for skin to skin, comfort and warmth. This just seems a little cruel to me. I love the first moments with my baby, so grateful I get that time!

Some of the reasons for handling, is not hurting baby Its all about the baby being awake and responding. The crying is good . As for cold in hospitals is to not allow viruses. Some people thinks its cruel, but its really not.
