Those baby howls didn't even wake up my GSD Amber, but then she's met two live Timberwolves in person & it was sniff sniff sniff, "You sure are a big fellow, Mr Wolf!" "Is that bison on your breath, my dear? Ummm. I love bison!". And that was it, they went on their separate ways!

What I wouldn't give to hear my beloved Electra howl once again. She passed 5 years ago and wish wish wish I would've put her voice on Record. Very lg, solid black, GSD girl and the most well-balanced dog I'd ever taken in...she was a rescue from Tx, Airman had to give her up as a young pup. Sigh. Beautiful howl.

I covered the speaker with my finger so it wouldn't upset my cats. All of my cats who've heard coyotes out the window have instantly knows to be on high alert. Or wolves howling in movies. Somehow they know.

Animals are smart in survival practicality. They are more attuned to the world around them and can feel the frequencies generated by anything from a natural disaster (ie. A massive storm or tsunami) up to something as mundane as powerful emotions. Ever wonder why your dog or cat (if you spend a lot of time with them) comes up to you when you are crying? Sometimes they can hear it but often they feel it and will come running to reinforce their loved lord or lady.
