Life is a defining characteristic of the Earth. It hasn't just emerged on this planet, it thrives in every last corner. Today, there are hundreds of trillions of organisms alive, spanning across millions of species - and that is less than 1% of the total number of living things that have ever called this place home. In this video, we will go back to the beginning, when the Earth was a fiery ball of molten rock, to look at how life emerged on Earth, with the very first cells.

Only reason he’s the “new Vsauce (Michael here)” is because Michael is doing Red rn, which I don’t wanna pay for just to watch him, so SEA is a really good replacement, not saying it’s bad, it’s more of good, because instead of paying to watch a video, you can watch this for free, it’s nice.

Universe pretty much made up of all the same stuff. Similarly Earthlings have only one surviving DNA operating system. After other {¿Many other?} Proto DNA also starting from scratch somewhere on our planet went extinct long ago. I'm not in favor of panspermia hypothesis. It's each local DNA uniquely evolved to specific isolated space bodies that will be wildly free distinctly different across the Universe.

I have to say that out of the plethora of science channels there are, I have come to enjoy yours the most. You are a very convincing narrator as you more than read a script. You really know this stuff. I like the way you interspersed your “talking head” within the documentary. It gives your topics a more personal touch. Anyway, great job. I look forward to watching your vids over the coming years.

I watched a lot of info on the RNA world hypothesis and tried to investigate how chemistry could lead to functioning proteins/dna structures.
