@@XenosaurianScience has to do with Hypothesizing. A hypothesis regarding human sexuality as grounded inside the range of survivability and gene reproduction is at the center of Evolutionary biology. Such is entirely Scientific and one would definitely be able to discern, specify, and prove the origins of kink in the previously stated regards.

Not to discredit anything said in this video, i myself do believe a great ape exists in north america undocumented. However this honestly just seems like a lynx, the section that everyone seems to think is a head looks at least to me more like a tail which then anatomically the legs make a lot more sense.

Today is the first day I've viewed your videos, and I want to congratulate you on great work. Your research is outstanding; however, more important I think, is that you apply logic and reasoning. Do they even still teach Logic in college? It seems to be a lost art as well as a lost concept; just the very idea of " the" truth, rather than my truth or your truth seems anathema in our culture. Next, your word choice. You're extremely articulate and it is a pleasure beyond words, especially for someone of my age, to hear a person carry on an entire conversation without using profanity as an adjective or space fillers such as umm or You know.. Keep up the good work, sir! You give me hope for the future and have a new subscriber. Even if I were not interested in your subject matter, which I indubitably am, I think I would listen to you because I haven't heard a man speak so articulately since my father died. It warms my heart. Thank you for your talented presentation, and for not going for the flash, the gore, the lurid graphics, etc. Keep it old school.I wish you Nothing but success for your endeavors and am exceedingly impressed.

Actually, the common belief (1800's) was that when a person spent too long alone in the woods, that they would start to go wild and grow hair. Most of the Newspaper articles of the time refer to these things using "wild man of the woods" style nomenclature. Others often used the term devil, such as "mountain devil". After Barnum & Baileys exhibited gorillas, then the term started switching to gorillas and apes. I have a feeling a lot of the places marked on maps such as "devil's pass" or "devil mountain" or "devil's holler(or hollow)" referred to known habitation spots where these things were commonly spotted. I do know the common thread of the times was not investigation -- from the newspaper articles of the day. Most centered around attempting to hunt down the scary culprit causing mayhem or mischief by a large armed party of locals.

There's an account of that happening in one of Hammerson Peters' videos. I think it's the video about the people who did the surveying for the railroad. Great work Bob. I have no idea what the creature in the photo is, however, I do have a guess at why there are cords on the wrists and possibly on the feet or legs. It's a fairly common fact that trappers and hunters would tie large game to poles to carry them out of a rough area. By tying the carcass to a pole, two men could easily carry it out rather than having to drag it a long distance. A dead creature is very hard to carry or drag and this technique made the task much easier. Just a guess, but that was my first thought.

I see a large dog lying down, sleeping in the snow. You can easily make out the snout (two small white holes) and work your way back from there to the eyes, and flap-down ears. The forelimbs are exactly how dogs sleep with the front legs stretched out, and the hind legs have no detail at all. I think people see what they want to see and the mind fills in the blanks.

Hi Bob. Great video. I am very sure I know where in the Yalakom that picture was taken. I used to live 10km away and worked on many of the properties in the valley. The snow shoes makes sense because the main road would be on the opposite side of the valley and this property would be snowed in. I can see a structure in the back right which would be a cabin (still there). The background slope of the mountain is completely familiar. It appears to me that the creature may have put its hands into a trap to get bait which a young naive Sasquatch could do. The wrists appear taped up. This could be what killed it. I know a woman born (1929) in that cabin behind in the photo. Her family may have owned the property when the pictures were taken. As a side note there are Sasquatch sightings today in the area. I have seen one myself.

MME is lil more of the "But what if it's real !?" sensationalized type content, but very well done and researched. Where as Bob's videos have actually brought me back around to believing in the possibility of Bigfoots existence again. He's well spoken, well researched, And logical to the point of making the hairs stand up on my arms and back of neck. Some of these stories start out tame, but increase with the creepy factor as Bob starts to connect the dots using logic.

I lived in Lillooet from 1977 to 1982, as a kid. It is mountainous and woodsy terrain. My step-Dad, now deceased, worked for the railway, freight trains, running north from Lillooet into the interior and back. The neighbour across the road, named Harry, worked with my step-Dad too, and they were very good friends. So, imagine my confusion when my step-Dad and the "fellas" would joke about "Old Harry" and what stupid things he had done, like throw rocks at or beat on the sides of the train, or run across the tracks as the train was rolling toward him or put debris on the rails or jump out at the speeders checking the tracks, scream at the workers, etc., notably at night and/or when the train was stopped in certain places. The neighbour, Harry, was a really nice man and I liked him and his family. He did not strike me as stupid or foolhardy or as a jokester, and it bothered me that the other men made fun of him and teased him and spoke about him behind his back sometimes, one even calling him "crazy Harry", and another called him "Big, Dumb and Ugly" more than once. My step-Dad, born in 1917, and several yrs older than my Mum, was not overly talkative and could be quite reticent at times, when speaking of things like his time in the Canadian Armed Forces in WW2 or anything he did not want to discuss. Where I was concerned, he was either working, or off working outside on our acreage, and too busy to approach much. Indoors he was often merely a pair of legs sticking out from under an opened newspaper in the chair in the corner waiting for supper. I'm chatty. All I got from him if I asked questions was grunts and a rattling of the paper. I tried asking him why they "picked on" Harry and called him "old" since my step-Dad was at least 15 yrs older than his colleague. He'd just chuckle and say, "Oh, Old Harry is a rascal!" My step-Dad used to work in logging on Vancouver Island after the War, and had many stories from that time he enjoyed sharing. Once, when my step-brother, 17 and I, 13, were going hiking up a nearby mountain with friends, my step-Dad cryptically told him, "Be careful in the woods. You might be surprised by more than a deer, cougar or bear." That trip, my step-brother nailed tin cans to trees in a small clearing next to a tiny stream, and used them as targets for the BB gun his pal had procured on the down-low. He buried the gun under a tree and piled up rocks on top of it bc he was not allowed to have it and had plans to return the following weekend with some buddies. We were sitting around eating a lunch of sandwiches when small stones and pine cones started landing nearby. We heard some noises. We saw nothing. We quickly packed up, only slightly bothered, thinking it was squirrels or raccoons. We intended to go further up the mountain to another, larger clearing before going back down and home. "THUD!" A rock bigger than a fist whizzed past and landed in the midst. Then "THWACK!" another rock hit a tree on my left. We thought it was someone playing a joke on us, but then we heard a growling sound. Still nothing to see. I thought, cougar? Bear? Then a big stick landed nearby. Hard to describe, but the atmosphere changed, like it was charged somehow. The hair on the back of my neck prickled and I felt suddenly sort of chilled. It had taken us an hour and a half to reach that spot, but we RAN all the way down in half the time. I was bruised, scratched, out of breath and had torn my new jacket beyond repair (HUGE heck for that!), having stumbled and fallen several times. We FELT like we were followed or pursued for a short while and my step-brother had a bruise on his upper leg near his hip he swore was from a rock hitting him, but we were kids and panicky. I heard thuds, but not certain from where. The feeling that day went from "pleasant summer day in the woods" to "get lost" in moments. For years we thought we had come close to being attacked by a bear, and it never occurred to me that it was NOT a bear, until about 20+ years later when I realized that bears don't throw things and if it was a bear chasing us, we'd have seen it. As far as I know, that BB gun is still there as I never heard of my step-brother going back for it. When my step-Dad was near death at 92, he was talking about his railway days and mentioned some of the "fellas" and his friend Harry, who had passed away some years before. I brought up that I never understood why the guys had said such unkind things about him. He got very quiet, as he did when trying to avoid speaking about something. Then he sighed. He turned to me and, with a slight smile, said, "It wasn't 'Harry', H A R R Y. It was "hairy", H A I R Y. See?" I looked confused so he added, "Old Hairy. Big, dumb and ugly Hairy. Hairy the Hassler. Naked and Hairy." Then he winked. That was all he ever would say to me about it. So, yes, the area around Lillooet could very well harbour a population of "Old Hairy's" relatives.

Quite frankly, this is a characteristic that I have observed to be more common amongst folks with less higher education completed than the smaller group that enjoy reading the lengthier comments. I contacted the HBC and got this back from them: "Thank you for your inquiry regarding photographs in our collection. Your interest in the Hudson's Bay Company Archives is greatly appreciated. I have conducted a search of both our online and paper finding aids and I could not find any mention of the photos you are interested in. An employee with the name Holland does appear but in 1930 and there's no mention of him being connected to photos. We have a few photos from the Lilliot area but these are from around 1900, they are in an album not glass plate negatives and they are mainly of the town and of prospectors. Also, as far as I can tell HBC did not have a Forestry Department. I search our creators database, card catalogues and the annual reports and there is no mention of a forestry arm." While as a cryptozoological researcher I am open to the idea of an extant bipedal primate, the animal in this picture is clearly a small to medium sized mammal. The photographer used forced perspective to make it seem more remarkable. It has rodent-like mouth that can clearly be descerned, plus a bend above the front paw that is unnatural for a primate wrist. I would suggest it is a leporid - probably a snowshoe hare between coats. It's head has been turned so that the ears are facing away from the low positioned camera.

Essentially, you are subconsciously admitting to being interested in the subject, but your ego is disguised with being a troll. You lack maturity but are looking down the right paths. In the writing on the back of the photo, the phrase "the guy that was in the picture" is used. Although the word "guy" existed in 1894, it certainly wasn't commonly used as a term for "man" like we use it today; around 1894, I'd expect the term "gentleman" or maybe less formally, "fellow" to be used. The word "guy" originally had a negative connotation, suggesting a ruffian or at least shabbily dressed poor person, and although I don't know if that connotation was still very strong by the end of the 19th century, "guy" just isn't the word we'd expect to see in that context. Judging by that word choice alone, I'd guess the writing was from no earlier than the 1920s, and more likely, some time after WWII. Another potentially interesting feature of the writing is that it is done in block lettering rather than cursive/handwritting. It's possible the writer chose the block style over cursive because it was difficult to get clear lines on the back of the photo, and block letters lend themselves to strong pressure better than cursive; or maybe the writer wasn't especially well educated and never learned to write in cursive. But up until pretty recently, almost everyone with at least an elementary education habitually wrote in cursive rather than block lettering--think of birthday cards from grandma, for example. One more thing about the writing: the final line reads "glass plate photography," which suggests that the person who wrote it was familiar with technology other than glass plate photography, otherwise, why specify? I don't know anything about the history of photographic tech, but almost certainly the inscription on the back on the photographic was written at a time when glass plate photography was no longer the most common photographic tech in use. So what does all this mean? Maybe nothing--there's nothing about the writing on the photo that makes it impossible for it to have been written around the time the photo was actually taken. But if I had to guess, I'd say it was written considerably later, at least a couple of decades later and more probably something like 40 or 50 years later. And what does THAT mean? No idea. I'll leave the big conclusions to people smarter than me.

@@macdaddy606 It does make some sense. I have some experience with vintage photos and you can learn a lot by the language. Modern slang and terms used on a 100+ year old photo could be suspicious. But, it is not definitive. Glass plate photography began to be replaced by newer methods in the mid 1870s, so, certainly, twenty years onward it would be something someone would note. Like, today, if you were marking a polaroid photo, you might note that it was a polaroid photo just because there are now more/better/other types. The word "guy" in this context goes back to the 1700s or 1800s so it would not be unheard of. But, it does strike me as a modernish word.

As you pointed out the snowshoes being a point of reference for size is difficult because it's not clear where they're placed in relation to the body (thanks to the snow). If the body is as big as you estimate that would be a large dog indeed. My skeptical question on this photo is has it been verified that the message is on the physical photo? It would be easy to write a message on another piece of paper and simply insist it's written on the back of the photo. I can't prove or disprove any of the above, but those are my observations. Ultimately for myself, this doesn't "move the needle" for me in a significant way.

You are absolutely right about the Bigfoot community! 👍🌟 I (a neuro analyst from Sweden, Scandinavia) was around for a while, in the public on KZbin, and studied both the creators, the phenomenon as well as the comments, in a university psychology project. And WOW, to call this subject a religion is no understatement...or I mean more like a cult. Yes, the followers swallowed whatever little piece they were fed, almost completely 100% and logic+critical thinking were NOT allowed in the comment sections! All the blurred pictures explained away and the number of Bigfoot seen in a video of trees, tbh those things were almost shocking... Then there was a good portion of fights within the community; who was the best "preacher" on YT, what YT-channel was a 💰scam and who was the real deal (that could change över time though, depending on the latest rumors). Some YT creators were given such a high status, treated like a cult leader by the subscribers and threats were not uncommon if someone dared to disagree! Science, scientists AND KZbin were considered as BAD, EVIL (which was kind of funny as they were actually watching the stuff on KZbin and often referred to "the DNA tests done" and "that was proven to be authentic"). But THE most evil was of course tHe gOvErNmEnT! (As always.) I don't know if anything has changed since around 2020, but I guess it hasn't. (Just a quick look in comment sections on some YT channels will tell. Or any reply on this comment... ) I don't expect that you will agree with me, and it's ok, but what I wrote here were my experiences and I went into this subject a few years ago with an open and curious mind. Can't say that I expected to find what I found, meaning the psychology behind/in front of this interesting subject, but it was a deep dive into something I will never forget, I can easily say that... To this channel, I must say that the quality was and apparently still is, much higher than most! And I don't mean just the fantastic drawings, but the content and this channel's approach on the Bigfoot subject, is on another level, which I feel is a good thing!

Like you, a curious and open mind is invaluable as well as the spine to call out BS. Maybe this is where you and I separate, because I always have and always will WANT Bigfoot to be alive and true and well. I'm not embarrassed to admit it, and find it odd that people conclude that it doesn't exist. The Burden of Proof is truly upon the community to come up with the goods, but swinging to absolute denial is too sure and cultish in reverse. So, take heart! Bob, I'm pretty sure that the writing on the back was done with a ball-point pen. And, while it was invented in 1888, it was not sold commercially until the 1940's and didn't really gain wide-spread use until the mid-late 50's. There's very little variance in the line width and the ink saturation is consistent, which points away from a nib. Also, block printing in caps was not common at that time. So I agree that this was a notation added by someone other than the original photographer at a later date. As the the photo itself, the writing seems to be on a more modern paper than if the photo were the original. If it was the original, the writer would not have to have gone back over the letters in some spots and push as hard as they did because the photo back would have had a matte surface, and would have been easily written on. The slicker papers that were being produced between late 40''s up till now, have slicker backs which require someone to push hard to write legibly. Can't say for certain without seeing the original, but my guess is that this was either a photo of the original, or it was taken between 1950 and 1980.

Perhaps the original details were written on a separate piece of paper. Perhaps this became lost, or damaged, and the notes we see here were written down by whoever ultimately made the photo public, and was done working from memory of the previously seen note. Perhaps any excess pressure was exerted not because of any difficulty writing on the medium, but because the pen was running out of ink - or had gaps in the ink; something which plagues ballpoint pens to this day. It's also entirely possible, maybe even likely, that the holder of the original photo didn't want to part with it, and a copy was used, as you suggested. And then the notes scribbled onto the back of the copy. Any number of scenarios could be applied to the nature and origin of the writing - and I'm not saying that yours may not be the correct one - but I think the thing to focus on is the photo itself, even though the legitimacy of the written description is certainly a big part of the story. But maybe, for lack of the ability to prove or disprove any scenario, it would be better to presume the written details are genuine, since we're working from the position that this photo may depict something which has not been conclusively scientifically proven - or conclusively scientifically disproven.

As a photographer, I'm guessing there's a whole lot more shoulder that we can't see as it had snow on it and was completely blown out - similar to the illustrator's interpretation. Even with a modern camera, this is as challenging as a shot gets. I'm also assuming quite a bit of the creature was sunk well into the snow. I had immediately assumed this was a very young bigfoot because of its build as well as the fact it was dumb enough to be caught. It seems that a whole lot of sightings revolve around a young sasquatch being "rescued" by an adult in some way. The head, unlike the illustration appears to be looking up, further indicating that it's not nearly as muscular as adults, frequently described as having no neck. Compelling photo only because so much is wrong with it instead of right.

As a photographer, i wouldn't have taken that shot, if it was a creature, because it is all blown out, and doesn't show any creature. If you were hired to take a picture to document an unknown hominid, you would make sure you got a good shot. You would have the creature propped up with something in the back round for contrast, like a shed or a large tree, and something next to it to show scale. You would not take a picture of something that looks like a coat in the snow. This was taken with a 4x5 or an 8x10, which is about 30-60 times larger than full frame. We are talking about a boat load of detail in the negative, that would leave no dout to whats is in the picture, but they didn't bother to develop it to scale, because it is a coat in the snow or a pile of pelts. You could blow that negative up to cover a 40 foot by 40 foot wall and you wouldn't loose detail.

Hi Bob! I enjoyed your breakdown and analysis of the photo as well as the minor history lesson. I'll be honest though, when I first saw the photograph my first thought was Lynx. Let me explain why: while there isn't a well defined and pronounced snout like on a bear, it looks to me like there is one there, but because the head is tilted backward we're looking at the throat and underside of the head. Following the neckline, there is a large white patch that denotes where I think the chin is and slightly above that are two white dots that I believe are nostrils plugged with snow. The large tufts on the side of the head are wetted down from being dragged through snow (hence the cordage) judging by the appearance of the fur. As well, the overall shape of the subject in the photograph is very Lynx like, from the large snowshow like paws, as well as the articulation of the front and hind legs. I grew up hunting and trapping and a Lynx lying on it's side like that isn't an unfamiliar sight. The silhouette can be very human like from a distance. I agree with your estimate of the size of the subject in the photograph, which is also part of why I think it's a Lynx and not a juvenile bigfoot. 4.5 to 5.5 feet in length would be very small for a bigfoot, but well within what one would expect as to the overall length of a Lynx stretched out like that, nose to tippy toes. At five feet or slightly over, that's a big Lynx, big enough to prompt someone to go to the trouble of photographing one. I can't speak to the provided background or bonafides but they are compelling. I just want to say, I'm not a "skeptic" but skeptical in certain regards (I am in total agreement about the longstanding coverup of bigfoot by those "in the know"). That being said, I greatly enjoy your videos and eagerly anticipate every installment. I've been following this channel for a longtime and this compelled me to comment. I also want to say this is by no means a criticism of you or your work. I just thought you'd appreciate another perspective, take it for what it's worth. Take care!

@eisenhowerwilson1868
@eisenhowerwilson1868 2 жыл бұрын
Not taken as argumentative at all, nor do I mean to infer any myself :) The calves do look to be thicker in the picture, but I can't say with any certainty what is meat and what's fur. Those could be the developed calf muscles of a bipedal creature or the fur(wetted from being dragged, angle of the shot, the way the subject is laying, etc. could be factors in why the calves appear thicker than they are. I can't say for certain, all I know is my mind said "lynx" the second I saw the picture.
@eisenhowerwilson1868
@eisenhowerwilson1868 2 жыл бұрын
I also forgot to mention in my original comment, the lack of shoulders bothered me, as it did you in your analysis. If the subject does in fact have broad shoulders that are obscured by top shoulder slumped forward, I'd expect one arm to be bit behind the other, the arm on top sticking out a bit further. In the picture though, the arms are almost entirely parralel along the entire length. I think that position would very awkward to place something broad shoulders and arms into, but if they were forelegs and belonged to an animal such as a lynx that lacked broad shoulders, it would be far more natural a position that wouldn't take any care to replicate. Again, no offense intended. Just offering my two cents. Looking forward to the next installment :)

Here are my thoughts on it being real plus how the photo was taken. First, if there had not been a "silent"war against sasquatch in canada the body would not have been photographed and the trappers would not have faired very well. Juvenile with no family unit(eradicated). On the run and possibly malnourished or just plain naive. But I doubt the later. The HBC would have pretty well identified sasquatch as a major dent in their profits. Just like all the other apex predators. And really now, the way many colonial agencies delt with indigenous peoples that were uncooperative you think that Sasquatch would have been anything but a speed bump in that era? And in the really big colonization period of the time they'd have no shortage of Irish and Scots used to rough living but wanting to get away from or deported by the British government. But enter a quick twist here. During the wars with France and the Colonies and elsewhere. The British Empire took a stance against slavery and started to utilize indigenous peoples as soldiers. So things like a bounty on anything that might be "humanoid" might be hushed up quickly. I'm thinking that the photos were proof for a payout of a decent sum or some type of reward not given much anymore by that time but still standing. Unofficially of course.

I had an... experience a few months back, in January of this yeae. My uncle and I were moving out to the more rural parts of South Carolina, around Cottageville, to stay with family after his wife passed away and we lost their house. On the... third or fourth night I started staying there, I was in the living room talking with my little cousin and my aunt, joking around, and my two uncles were outside, moving a trailer from the move towards the back of the house to unload it. I glanced out the window to see what they were doing as I saw them milling about in the driveway out the corner of my eye through the window. I didn't particularly care so I was going to go back to talking to my aunt, but I noticed something across the street. There's a church across the way, and it has a tall lampost to light up the parking lot so people can see it at night. Standing out by the edge of the light was something... Massive. At first I thought it was just a reflection of myself in the window glass screwing with my sense of scale, but I kept looking and realized that the thing wasn't moving with me and that it was solid. Naturally I thought it might have been one of my uncles or someone across the street watching them, but the scale was off. If it was a man, he would have had to be wearing many layers of clothing, including several coats and pairs of pants. So my next thought was 'bear' or 'cow', because there's several small farms nearby and bears aren't unheard of in this part of the state, although they are extremely uncommon, but the silhouette I was seeing wasn't proportioned correctly; it was blocky, but the arms were long, and the legs were short but still long enough to be distinct. I remember saying 'The Hell is that?' My aunt didn't pay it much mind, but my cousin caught on and looked out the window to see what I was looking at. He stared for a moment and then said 'I don't know what that is.' Then he got this nervous look on his face, like he was scared and trying to pass it off with an awkward smile. I was having none of this and decided to head out the door to get a better look, but when I got outside, whatever was there was gone. I walked over to my uncles and asked if either of them had been across the street or had seen anything, but they responded in the negative to both questions and looked at me like I had grown a second head. I walked back inside and stood back where I had been before to see if I could see it again, but whatever it was had gone. I had my cousin stay in the house and stand where I had been and watched me as I walked back out, but nothing lined up, and he was very unnerved by the experience. The entire exchange from beginning to end was around 3 minutes, and Bigfoot or not, I saw something that night, and my cousin can vouch for the feeling of seeing something odd leaving you scared and afraid to talk about something just as much as I can vouch for the disappointment caused by going to investigate something out of simple curiosity and finding that something in the universe is moving away from you just to waste your time.

I specifically recall, some truckers saying they see them all the time while they spoke with other truckers. I personally got to see one in 2020, was 15ft away from me, changed everything about my life and how I see life. I contacted Todd Standing and Steve Isdahl, asked for some help. Hi Bob, thing is for those of us unfortunate enough to have encountered the Sasquatch? We generally don't care who or whom believes us at a certain age.I'm 56 and my 1st encounter was whilst hunting mule deer here in the Rockies of Utah at age 11. My second was at Fort Sill, Oaklahoma while pulling field guard on a Battery section of Self Propelled Artillery in the early 90s, and when I put it in my written report, we still used Black Skilcraft goverment pens and paper logs then. I had my enlistment threatened unless I rewrote it. Having a wife and two young sons I changed it and left it out.The goverment knows they exist. I turned down Season 2 of Terror In The Woods because they wanted to embellish my encounters. My honor cannot be bought at any price.Fact is, if I said they did'nt exist? I'd be lying.🌲👣👣👣🌲

In the early 2000s I went on a camping trip to Lake Gregory regional forest with my mom and sister. I was 8 or 9 years old. On our last day there I woke up just as the sun was coming through the trees. Because some noises in the woods freaked my mom out the night before we ditched the tent for the back of the Branco. Anyway I awoke and sat up looking out the back window my eyes adjusted to what I thought was a tree at first. I rubbed my eyes as you do and right out the window 15ft or so was an atleast 8ft tall apelike creature standing very up right looking directly at me. It was the color of an orangutan and It was muscular and I could tell it was a male by its anatomy. I watched it watch me for awhile until it slowly walk off to my right into the forest, towards a raspberry grove we had been eating from all weekend. I'm about 30 now and I'll never forget that as long as I live.

Bob, I work with scientists every day and trust me, we "peasants" (LOL) often come up with the opinions (ideas) that lead to their "discoveries" more than they do. It's a conundrum that has baked my noodle countless times, and I only regret I didn't see it coming. Sure, I heard overly academic snobbery in my youth, and noticed something very inorganic about their (friends of family, acquaintances, neighbors, teachers, etc...) thought processes that sometimes simply didn't always make sense. I also asked questions that made them uncomfortable, even back in the 70's when I was merely 12 yers old. Things like; "if you're saying that is THE largest dinosaur that existed, why did other scientists say that about an easier dinosaur, that is now in second or third place? They seemed pretty confident about it...". They side-stepped that and many other overconfident, "with no evidence it doesn't exist" BS they comforted themselves with over and over, to protect their process. The mentally feeds itself. Speaking of comfort, I'm right there with you on the phobias and the causes being from reasons. There is no randomness. I can only get away with calling some of the animals I work with displaying "random" behavior, because those "scientists" I work with seem to thing their studies can predict the behavior so well, when my observations which are often not written (my role demands I'm on my feet more often) actually help my record of accuracy often surpass theirs on a regular basis. It did at least until they caught on to what I was trying to teach these "scientists"... which is funny because they still treat me as if I'm nowhere near allowed to breathe the air in their club, and you know why? Because I was foolish enough to honestly tell them I only have three years of school, an associates degree, and not a bachelors. Yup. Oh... they don't have the backbone to say it to my face, but it's there. In meetings and conversations, the bias and disrespect is screaming. All under the guise of occasional pitying smiles, calm, emotionless demeanor, and other performance suggesting they are more evolved than I. Back to the phobias for a bit-- I've been trying to help people not get discouraged or ridiculed for being afraid of spiders (or other obviously baked-in survival instincts). As I sit here with my jumping spider pets next to me, none of their adorable whirling to stare at me, tackling prey, or large intelligent eyes figuring out their next approach convinces me that I am "normal" or typical when I let them crawl on me. I understand that took an odd curiosity since 5 years of age, and might even be a flaw in my instincts to let it go this far. Anyway.. keep up the great work, and I wish I could claim I was one of the first to discover your style and pushed the public to listen to you. Though some of my logic might even precede what you came up with, I still can't put it into words nearly as well a you, nor will I ever. I gave up sometime in my late teens unfortunately, and it seems I can't get it back. Oh well, at least there are those like yourself doing a much better job spreading the word(s).

19:41 The need for such a massive cover-up is a huge problem for any bigfoot theories. A conspiracy to cover-up bigfoot would have to involve at least several thousand people, has no single authority organizing and enforcing it, has no strong motives, has supposedly spanned centuries, and has maintained near-perfect secrecy. It's hard to plan a surprise birthday party involving a half-dozen people and keep it secret for a month. For a real-world comparison, the Manhattan Project involved a few thousand people -- extremely few of whom were allowed to leave Los Alamos or were fully aware of the nature of the project, was organized and enforced by the US military, was motivated by the biggest war effort in history, lasted less than five years, and there were still significant leaks. And that was at a time when secrets were much easier to keep -- only half of US households even had a telephone.

Cam Fuzzy... Good detective work. I'd done the same thing and ordered the autobiography which Holliday wrote, "The Valley of Youth," The Caxton Printers, Ltd., 1948. I will read the book to see if there are any overt or even cryptic references to the incident in question. However, from the outset I am not hopeful, as it seems Mr. Holliday was more of an artist than a photographer. Case in point, in examining the photos in his book (which I do not yet have in hand; the images I've seen are from the book sales site) they all seem to be stock images from the British Columbia Travel Bureau, etc., and not actual plates taken by Holliday himself. I sincerely doubt a photographer -- especially a profession one -- would not have a wealth of his own pictures with which to illustrate his autobiography. We shall see if the text is more revealing. I will report back.

Well this one I can see... I agree in principle. In any so called free society, the people have a right to know what their government is keeping from them. If its a national security risk, then tell us and leave it at that. A cover-up and denialism breeds suspicion and loss of trust. Take Roswell for example. I don't think we'll ever know for certain the truth. But the Army says they have a crashed flying saucer, then 24 hours later do a complete 180 and say it was just a weather balloon. You're telling me these trained soldiers and pilots (including career officers) couldn't tell what they were looking at immediately? Lie to someone once and they'll always assume you're lying. That being said, I can't fathom what reason their could be for a cover-up of a large unknown ape. Not wanting to start a panic sounds like a joke. If pieces of shit knew they had something bigger than a gorilla out their, and they didn't have to travel to Africa to shoot it for fun, the hunting industry would see business beyond comprehension. Bob said maybe the HBC was worried about the bad press from killing a near human species. That says he knows nothing about 19th century history. If you were a rich European company, you could kill whatever and whoever you wanted in the name of pursuing profit (and the Crown's glory) and no one would bat an eye. Now I suppose most zoologists are skeptical for the quite reasonable reason of their being no definitive evidence. But that doesn't mean its a conspiracy. The only people I could see actively trying to cover this up are real estate developers, loggers, and the fossil fuel industry. Its required by law to study the ecological impact (including the effect on wildlife) of all construction projects. Now if the sasquatch exists, it'd probably be considered an endangered species, right? Well then that would mean a lot less property is available to exploit. So keep its existence a secret. I also suspect evangelical Christians would want to destroy the evidence, since it would be yet another win for evolution

You know, the more I learn about the "cover-up" the more convinced I am something is going on. I was looking at some movies a while back, and noticed the number of "monster" movies out there... and it's a lot. Movies about Zombies, Demons, Aliens, even just sharks... but the number of Sasquatch films is surprisingly small. I'm not saying Hollywood should make such movies, but it leaves me perplexed that a savage Sasquatch is rarely on the list, or if they are, it's always in the realm of magic or humor. I wonder if there is a reason for this. A reason why those in power don't want anyone to think about the existence of Sasquatches to begin with. It makes no sense that governments, entertainment, industry, etc. all seem in on this... but there is a possibility: it's "religious." Now before you write this off, I'm not referring to a typical religion, but the religious-like behavior of people in power to protect their power at all cost. They will lie, cheat, even kill to maintain it. Something seems to come over people in power, something that makes them want to control things as if they were a kind-of god. The giant squid, dinosaurs, megladon, Sasquatch... they do their best to mock eye witnesses and cover up evidence so that they can "control" the narrative... until something like the Giant Squid becomes proven by someone who's not in on that power, and thus breaking the monopoly. It makes no sense to us why they would want such pointless power, but I would argue that people with power have a strange obsession with growing that power. What if, their reasoning is merely the desire to control? Control the fear, the narrative, the facts. Fear keeps people in obedience, narrative keeps them ignorant, and facts make them dependent on the keepers of that knowledge. If this is what's happening, it makes one wonder what else they are trying to control...

As for the sake of cover up for the sake of it? Why attribute malice to what can be seen as incompetence or just reasonable doubt. Like megaladon is one of those things that we know is not around cause its habitat would make it impossible for us to not see it and be able to observe it. Giant squips are deep sea animals, megalodon is an open ocean predator that preferred shallow warmer waters. They were also massive and active predators so they need to eat a lot. While giant squids have lower metabolisms they are generally less energetic and less of a menace and those that did see them often saw sick or injured squids that came to the surface with accounts of ‘attacks’ mostly being best described as the squid trying to hold on to something cause they are sick. Which sailors mistook as an attack and may exaggerate sizes (not taking into account exaggeration by writers) there is a reason it took so long (until the end of the 19th century) for it to be more widely believed as a real creature cause we start recording corpses and the remains in sperm whales. Megalodon is not the giant squid and we can’t use the giant squid to explain meg cause people who do don’t understand what the meg was. They think it is just some giant shark so obviously it can do wtf they want it to conveniently do. Plus this is less one or a few countries doing and more of an international effort to do. It is easier to do smaller cover ups than massive ones. When people think megalodon is alive they often reuse misinformation, faked images, misidentified other large sea animals and such. There is a lack of actual care in showing that it exists and that isn’t helped by all the videos about meg being alive. It has caused brain rot in the cryptic community. Cause it has to be a cover up and not something else. Like this video, it very well could have been some dude who loved in the area and the company wanted him gone so that they could use the land without issue and the photos were taken to prevent people discovering that the company was involved with the murder of a ‘wild man’. Why blame needlessly greed for power over very observable greed for cash. It makes more sense for a cover up to be for humans/human likes creatures over some ape and more company oriented caused these companies can just pay government officials to let them cover it up. These companies often don’t give a damn about anyone but their own cash. To say it is just a bigfoot without noting anything else. It is very much possible that this was just a person as it was a bigfoot and doesn’t conflict with the motives. Companies like HBC have done a lot of harm to people that we know of (East India Company) so why can’t there be crimes against humanity we don’t know about.

Another fascinating video! Thank you! I found the photo extremely intriguing. I just wish we had access to the other photos of it that were supposedly taken. It angers me knowing that somewhere out there those photos are probably sitting in someone's attic or cupboard and not shared with the world. You did give some good explanations for things I picked up on right away. My first thought was that it was too small to be a Bigfoot. The body looks short and slender. But like you said, perhaps it was a young Bigfoot. And I also noticed what I though was a necklace being held in its left hand. Perhaps a rosary. But then you said that was probably the ends of a rope that was used to tie its hand together and that made sense. (It does look like its wrist are pressed together.) But it does make me wonder, if it was dead, why tie the wrists? To me the face looks like it is almost dog-like. I see a snout like a dog's. Under that there looks like snow or white hair on a beard. And while the creature does look like it has long hair on its head I really can't be sure. (Old black and white photos can be very blurry unfortunately.) My other question would be why does the top half look like his fur is covered in snow while the bottom half looks snow free? Was it dragged by its legs to the location? I have no idea. And my next question would be why would the Hudson Bay company keep this a secret? They could have become famous and made a fortune on this discovery. I don't think that they did it to keep other people from flooding into their territory. To me the benefits would far outweigh the disadvantages. And finally, what did they do with the body? Bury it? Keep it locked up in a vault? Did someone use taxidermy to preserve this creature? That would be amazing if true. I wish we had answers to that.

Wrists were tied before it died. Why keep it a secret? The fur trade was an incredibly lucrative event in history, far more so than the discovery of another 'gorilla'. How much money flowed into mid-Africa when gorillas were discovered? Perhaps, and I don't mean this in a rude way, You may enjoy studying the history of the Hudsons Bay Company and the early century's of the settlement of the 'New World'. Js, sincerely Nathan.

..and not only that; I'm glad you addressed the size of the possible bigfoot. It seems many are shocked any bigfoot is less than 20 feet and five thousand pounds these days. C'mon Bob, help me out here... you're exactly the type to exercise each point to each corner and branched possibilities... it's exactly how I think, but as stated in another comment, I just can't speak or write like you. So I tend to give up or leave dozens of thoughts out. Anyway, think of any lineage. Well let's stick to mammals. Are they all the same size? Even when adults there are different species that seem very similar except size. The closer something is to a hominid and not other mammals, I would expect more variety to shape and size, since they may be helping each other survive more than many other species of animals, providing room for anomalies to survive and possibly even pass on their genes. Some are the same species but live in different areas, changing requirements of average size for survivability. It can be based on many things such as types of food, the terrain, etc... etc... It could be a weakling. Something that survived that long but not doing as well as others, which may also be the reason it was "caught". You can take this one in more directions if you want of course. Or maybe you already did-- I paused the video just to write before I forgot the ponderings.

Something to think about is that those cameras had negatives, and most likely, the photographer was the one to develop the negative and the prints. Usually, in a small area, if not in his own lab , if he wanted to take a photo, most likely, he would just make more prints. The hunters may not even know how the printing process worked, so he could most likely take as many as he wanted. Also, he may have taken the negative. Just a thought that may go more on the possibility of it being fake.

They would, later on, even carry the very basics of a photo lab with them to make said prints. The camera itself is only part of the incredible process for such a journey.

Great video as always Bob, a few thoughts: Frankly I don't think the photo or subscript/caption is all that compelling. I don't have specific reason to believe or doubt it's authenticity, but I already believe in sasquatch (or as close as you can get to "believe" without undeniable hard evidence or personal experience, I'd bet my life on the existence of coyotes but "only" a few hundred K on the existence of bigfoot if that makes sense XD). The lack of detail is expected but still makes the picture less compelling. If it were of tracks or something like that, or if it were closer up/we had multiple photos of the creature in different positions or different angles then the lack of detail wouldn't matter. But the subject isn't even in center frame, it's laying face down or on its side in the snow and you can't even see it's entire body despite that to have been possible for the photographer to capture. Personally I categorize this in a folder of images which are interesting since I already strongly believe these things are real, but not "compelling" to someone who doesn't believe. On the subject of a cover up, I appreciate how you describe it. Many "conspiracy theorist" types have a bad tendency to turn any supposed conspiracy into an all encompassing scheme in which everyone in "power" is involved in somehow. You do well to focus on one quasi-independent entity and specific people within it who were privy to a specific event, and other that people in that same entity at the time to today probably knew nothing of this. Whatever cover up of sasquatch existed in the past or today, it's surely compartmentalized and on a need to know basis. Wouldn't be surprised if there were multiple independent cover up operations which barely know what the others are doing if at all, this happens frequently in espionage and undercover law enforcement ops (seen several stories where a "domestic terror cell" turned out to be made up entirely of undercover state and federal agents of various departments, it's a hilarious image ofa bunch of CIA and FBI agents working for months to convince each other that they're extremists and encouraging each other to plan terror attacks, reminds me of Agent Rick Flag from MASH XD). I know it was a digression but it was still interesting, on the topic of your basically evolutionary psychology explanation for certain sexual tastes or kinks: I think there's some amount of truth to the idea, certainly relating to secondary sex characteristics like breast and hip/butt size. But I wouldn't take the idea much farther than that with any certainty. Evolutionary psychology is an interesting lens to look at things through but I think it often winds up as a bunch of "just-so stories", or stories that attempt to explain an observed fact despite little to no knowledge of the real origin. We observe the fact that some people are into feet or tying/being tied up, and we can certainly imagine an evolutionary explanation for these things, but we shouldn't equate too strongly our imagined story with reality. Honestly a lot of your early videos (and still in your current ones) speculating on the evolutionary history of bigfoot do this a lot. We observe some behavior or trait of bigfoot, we can imagine how that trait might have been beneficial in the past and today, all well and good so long as we remember that this is extreme speculation. Not saying you haven't remembered this or criticizing your approach, just a word of caution. People like us who like this kind of theoretical speculation run the risk of getting attached to our imagined explanations and can confuse them with the observed facts themselves, which would greatly cloud your thinking and make you blind to contrary evidence or other potential explanations.

Being a hunter and a Trapper who has spent 90 percent of his life in the woods and in snow and around wildlife and yes I've seen "Them " I can tell you that what you are seeing in this image is a Mountain lion, the body is laid out ,and the snow shoes I'm familiar with also they are average 3 ft long. This is a young mnt lion and the tail is in the photo laid out by the brush behind hit and due to the image the bottom half is black and the tail is due to quality.

@@fathom136 I just did the same with the highest detail version of the photo that I could find and I don't see any of the things you're claiming you found. Adjusting the lighting levels of a poor quality, poorly lit image isn't going to magically insert detail that isn't there. And the left side is clearly the head of the animal.

At first I thought that this was a picture of an Irish wolfhound, but with all context considered, this is most likely a lynx, which matches up perfectly with both the snow shoes size and the back legs shape and size. On top of all that. Despite looking very undetailed at first, you can see what appears to be the nose, muzzle, and maybe even eye

I agree but disagree, ha. I think the front half of the body looks enough like a lynx that I could be satisfied by it, but it's the back legs that take away that certainty. The thigh bones are too long. If you look at any lynx image, the point of the knee is right in line with the abdomen, and I don't think even wetted fur would explain the big disparity here. That said, the thigh bone doesn't look long ENOUGH to be a biped either. Then again ...... the thigh bones of humans are disproportionately short until puberty when they experience a sudden lengthening (oh my poor daughter's agony; it even triggered a low-grade fever here and there). And given the snowshoe comparison, mayyyyybe this could be a very young hominid??? It's just a shame the photo quality is so poor.
