@9:46 I have advice!! Finding a balance. I was a flunk almost big time fail in highschool, i then went to nursing school and had some of the highest grades n i had a good attitude and balance. The biggest thing that helped me was mindfulness. It’s not just the word, it’s something you have to research and learn. “Talking to yourself soft” isn’t the correct term not to be negative but you do want to be your own friend. So your “friend” would tell you when you’re doing something wrong, when you like something, that you shouldn’t be procrastinating, that you should eat but still study etc. be you’re own friend because life, school, work, will kick your ass already. If you also discipline yourself hard which is what I did, you’re able to thank yourself after, appreciate the work you put in, and feel like you deserve a rest, because you’re being an honest hard working person who stops to check in with themselves. Don’t stop being your own friend, it’ll get you through it all.

This is a beautiful sentiment. I appreciate you sharing this with me. I struggle with being my own friend and having self-discipline, but as I get older, I am learning that those are necessary not only to become a better version of myself, but also to just get through life. It's not easy in the beginning, but once you realize their importance and start practicing them, you'll wonder why you ever thought differently. I’m slowly getting there!!
