The FIRST SunRail Train to go to DeLand! SunRail Groundbreaking Ceremony For BRAND NEW Station

On Monday, May 21st, 2023, SunRail officially announced the start of construction of the 17th and final station on the A-line corridor (The Sunshine corridor from the Airport to Disney is still in the works, don't worry) And held a groundbreaking ceremony with a special 3-car train to take connoisseurs to the event in DeLand, making it this ride the FIRST ever SunRail train to bring passengers to DeLand, with the official station projected to open in 2024. About 400 of us boarded the train and watched the ceremony take place, ending with an incredible speech from Volusia County Chair Member Jeff Brower. I wonder how far the train station is from the actual town of Deland and where they have a shuttle there for people who don’t have a car there or don’t have a pick up but just wanted to walk through the town shops.
