I was there for that and many more afterwards. Freestone and the Seidies bros in the MANS and Gaffiero in a ton of muscle. Loved the trans Tasman series that eventuated. Scarcello nailing Goodyear curve so many more great memories

I was there. A mate in Griffith worked for Shell and we got free passes, so we road-tripped down overnight and spent the day there.

Wouldn't it be fun to see a field of this size today? Rules have allowed Super Truck racing to become so expensive, most fields are 6-8 trucks.

This is crazy, looks like the old Hume Hwy before they introduced speed limiters. Bogie arsed trucks still with turntables and bullbars .. maybe pick up a back load on the way home after the race. Old inter at the back looks so out of place. Even using Jakes brake. Good to see Barry Sheene.

Most of them did the LTL worked and Frank Amoroso had a mad truck he drove through the week and raced and a single drive kW that would fly around Melbourne

Was some very fast little 6tonners running parcels over night on the Hume Highway in this era nothing could catch them I had them fly past my going up hills pulling 120km

I am sure that yellow and white Mercedes pulled fridge van's on the Bruce hwy before it was a race truck Botchers or Refrigerated Roadways i believe it hammerd on the road to if it was the same i know there was a latter 440 with the aero kit it was a fast truck but i remember it was often on the road side with the cab tilted turbo problems i did hear

Just out of curiousty, they dont change tires during these races do they, only because, those 6 wheeled trucks would take a lot long er I sure to have all theirs changed besides the 4 wheeled trucks, but dont think these races are long enough to have to worry about that I bet

Kinda surprized after 8 years no one gave ya the heads up that all these trucks have 6 wheels and some have 10! No they don't stop for tyre change, unless they get a flat but then the race is pretty much over for them. Think even back then it wasn't a whole lot of laps!
