Though cgi is nothing to practical effects, I will say that for cgi transformations, this movie does them pretty well.
@grimmetal95302 ай бұрын
Thing is Rick Baker the make up effects artist of the Wolfman wanted the transformation be more particle like his work in American Werewolf in London but Joe Johnson the Director wants to do CGI instead. Rick wasn’t thrill about it

Lawrence writhing in pain during his transformation into a Werewolf is so scary.
@sSlitherrs5 ай бұрын
Its funny because Lawrence, that was his first time becoming a werewolf and still managed to take on 10 people at once, moves like a baby wolf not being able to move like his father who is experienced.
@MichaelF-cc8ri3 ай бұрын
Of course he can take on more than one person, he's a werewolf.

True, you can see the diference in savagery during his final fight with his father, he almost lost despite being much younger and I would assume also physically stronger

I feel like they should have had the Wolfman be more hidden in shadows early on, like they kinda do that already but he's still a bit too brightly lit. I feel like this should have been more of a tease for when we get to see him in the light later, fully and completely revealed to both the onlookers and the audience for the first time. This movie's still fun tho. Plus it has Wolfman Anthony Hopkins, which I hope was fun for him, so it has that going for it.

I think this movie's real problem was not endearing us enough to the characters. I personally didn't care much what happened to them, as the plot was very predictable and Del Toro's and Hugo's characters, while evidently good men, were just men of action. They functioned more as tools for the plot instead of the plot revolving around their character choices and who they were as men. We see them do good things, but we don't know what motivates them to DO those good things. What is at stake for them personally? Relationship-wise? If they had focused on the characterizations more, this would have been much better received.
