I have finally started to catch some pike on lures after watching your videos, the ginger fisherman’s and DB’s . After loads of blanks I had 4 fish on the last weekend of the river season plus 3 the week before all on soft plastic lures. Thanks for your videos! @@SnaggedBro freshwater it's all trout and some salmon in a myriad of streams and lakes. There's not really any coarse fish but there are a few spots with Perch and a few carp in the North Island but no one fishes for them. There is some outstanding sea fishing though with everything you can think of from tiny to huge. It's surf casting in my particular area near Christchurch on big long gravel beaches with more limited species but it's not far to go to get into other stuff. All the time you are fishing though the scenery is spectacular.
