The first time I heard the term "progressive" was when I returned from Vietnam. The folks who were spitting on my brothers and I described themselves as "progressives". And as I learned more about them I became even more disgusted with them. If that's possible. AOC does inspire me to become a very vehement opponent of "progressivism". I think progressivism is a step toward socialism which is, in marxist theory, the transition from capitalism to communism.
