At first I was going to say who would spend over four hundred dollars on a knife. But after seeing yours now I want one

OK I'm buying those microfiber swabs immediately. Didn't know you had those. Taking my knives apart is a little tedious and sometimes a pain to get the action, centering and blade play correct.

My knife game lately is a little tier 2, a little tier 3. I love a good Benchmade but I'll rock a Sog, Civivi or Kizer.

Try the SOG Turminus XR, for $50 you get a bar lock and a ball-bearing swivel with thumb flick and a thumb stud

The bantam 285 really is an excellent knife for the price, I carried mine for about seven years as my work knife before I retired it (only because I got a 110). Every now and then I'll carry it but for the most part it sits in my drawer.

100% agree the edge retention feels more like 154cm just less chippy and easier to sharpen

I use my sebenza harder than any folder I have ever had. Chris is a giant and I'm sad he retired. Glad he did though, he put a ton of work in over 30 years.

Stage 4 knives, $400 - 'you're not getting better steel or materials'. In other words, you're paying for the name. There are a hundred Chinese knives in the $50-$100 range that are arguably as good.. There are CRK clones that are 95%+ as good for $50.

Definitely top tier! Those guys know their stuff. I'm really impressed that they make every part of the knife down to the screws.

I’m a 3 kinda guy, but also have many 2’s. Not to say that I wouldn’t love to have a 4 or even a 5 someday, if I can stop over spending on 2’s and 3’s for a minute and save enough money 😃

I'm a Tier 3 user, and still buy and enjoy Tier 2 knives! The budget I set for my knives is the $200 mark, and with the one exception of the Microtech UTX-85 in my collection, I like to stay under that amount for folding knives, and under $100 for fixed blade knives 👍

BTW, excellent topic that applies to ALL knife owners/users/collectors, and one that many move up Tiers when they get more into the hobby!

I try to stay under 500 for a knife lately. I've carried the $1300 customs to the $40 beaters. Just collect what's ever appeals to me at that moment. Great products you offer I use that _ _ _ _ on everything. Thanks Ryan ✌️

I love the variety I think I've hit the steel snob stage lol I've had the Gerber paraframe grittyest worst thing I've held oil didn't help at all. I will say though came sharp to its credit. Kershaw has a few models i don't mind the look of. The highball looks nice to my eyes in the xl model. So yah I started at the bottom and whent up to hoback and hinderer.
