5 step. This its a good reason I really got into promote not only my self but I also promote other DJ's and Events all over social media. Yes I was one those people that I wasn't going to be too much in IG but when I got into this app call Live Me the people want to see more contents on pictures and videos so they can see my every daily life so I did and wow I could not seen that coming on how much replay I get and comments I get on IG so now I got Facebook,Twitter,Snapchat,IG and I just share more of events for DJ's and KZbin channels like this one on digital dj tips on how great this channel its all about. So I do that even more from there you name it and that helps to get my name out from online world to the real world and that's the great part its the more I make noise on helping people out I will get my 1st club or bar job as a DJ real soon. Great Tips I will get that book before my trip around July. Keep up the work Phil and the rest of the Digital DJ Tips Family. Funk Up Salute Peace and Salute

“More than likely they have a cocaine habit to prop up” 😂😂 Phil that pretty much sums up most club promoters and club owners in my town. What a legend for saying that you’ve hit the nail on the head there mate 😂 on a serious note though thanks for that I needed to hear it! You seem like a decent guy with a lot of knowledge and I’m glad I have the pleasure of being able to watch your videos 👍🏻

All of these tips are golden! That bit about the Cocaine is funny LOLOL! But yes all of these tips are golden. Most DJs who all work a certain scene in a community all know each other and probably like hanging out w/ each other to a certain degree. So sometimes before even going after a type of gig at a venue or w/ a crew, check out that venue and see if you would even hang out there. Would your friends hang out there? Would you bring a date there? It doesn't seem that important, but wherever you're DJing at is an extension of your vibe/intentions/energy and i hate to say the dreaded word, your "brand". Ultimately DJs/promoters/managers/bar staff like to book people who they like to hang out with. So if you can't see yourself hanging out at that venue they probably don't see you enough to even consider you for the gig. (Going to a place once a quarter isn't enough to make an impression. Try going 4 consecutive events/weeks/nights, be cool, have fun, and they'll most certainly remember you.) ["Out of sight out of mind"]

Digital DJ Tips The first 4 reasons really resonated with me but the branding advice had me studying the video. That’s what I’ve been struggling with most but the more I practice the more clear it all gets... I appreciate all the info!

Great tips as always, Phil! Wish this was available back in the early 90's when I started DJing and dealing with local promoters for gigs.

Yeah about that "I live in the middle of nowhere" in my case I get booked at 70%-80% of the gigs over here, but there's little money so most gigs in my area are none profit anyway... And if they do pay it's under 10€ / hour in undeclared work :P Not that money is a problem, but what I mean is there's little competition, little money, it's easy but poorly rewarding in my area, so yeah I think id prefer the city where there are more gigs per month and more cash even if it does mean to work a little harder to get them ;)

Kids, don't buy or distribute drugs. This is not a real suggestion. Just a joke. But seriously, you're more likely to get a gig from handing the promoter a bag of good gear with your name and contact info than a mixtape 😂 (this also won't get you gigs, just a promoter who teases gigs to get free gear from you) My favorite excuse has always been "No one here likes my music!". Seriously? You're a dj and only like 1 specific style of music? Change your reasons for being a dj, since obviously it's not a love of music

Couldn't possibly comment on the first point you make, but agree 100% with the second! :)
