Thank you Dutch bike, I bought myself a 2019 ST3LE, after much research and frankly, your videos. I have seen pretty much all the English Stromer KZbin videos and finding yours was quite refreshing. A simple filming style, very nice information to one that is seeking such info out. I will certainly post some videos of my Stromer soon, I live in Canada and just put winter studded tires on mine for winter riding (within reason, of course)

Thanks for the pluses of riding an E bike. I've had my ST2 since 2015 , and still blown away by the Swiss Watch quality feel of this vehicle. The way you can double click smooth gear changes up or down blows my mind. I sure can't do that on my Bosch motors on my other E bikes. You channel is very informative . I subd and liked. Thanks again

I love that you have these videos on the ST3. I just purchased the ST3 (used to have an ST1 years ago) as my commuter vehicle in the Bay Area too. I sold off a standing scooter which just wasn't working out. Appreciate your points about the ST3 being an "intermediate vehicle". It is a misunderstood vehicle on the road. Drivers do seem surprised that you can keep up with them often or even pass them when they get stuck in traffic. Vehicles do cut you off and as much as I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt, often it seems as though they do so deliberately to assert dominance essentially. Also agree with your point about being courteous. I ride my road bike once a week to work cause it's a shorter distance and the rest of the week on the ST3. Helps to put things in perspective. Your final point about how fun it is is so true. It feels quite liberating to be able to go a long distance quickly. I wanted an e-bike because I have to go a longer distance than I can get to quickly on my steel road bike, also so I don't get there all sweaty. I've watched many of your videos. I contemplated trying out the ST5 Pirelli wheels as you recommend but opted to keep the stock wheels and simply put in a Tannus insert in the tires to prevent the chances of a flat. It's barely rained in so long but I'm wondering your thoughts on riding the ST3 in the rain. There's so little online about day to day use with the ST3.

Hey C! Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Of all of my reco's I'd say changing the tires made the biggest difference. And they are much more confidence- inspiring in the rain as well. It's the best 200 dollars you can spend on your Stromer.

Hey Nico! Great video and welcome to the eBike community. I stumbled across your video because I have a Stromer as well. Great choice for that commute, glad you didn't get caught up in the mid-drive hype. I'd be interested in comparing notes on the Omni software, its been basically crap on my bike.

Hey Domingo! Great to hear from you! Yeah, I test rode the Specialized Vado 5.0 and did a full demo with the Trek Supercommuter+ 8S. While they were pretty good, they didn't have the acceleration of the Stromer. As well, they were pretty loud while the Stromer is virtually silent. What year is your Stromer? Wondering if we have the same Omni system. I have had pretty good luck although there have been a couple of weird glitches - The Seamless system not always recognizing my phone, The bike shut down at a stop light in the city once on it's own (which was NOT awesome), and the app connectivity to the bike doesn't work at my house because we have no cell signal there.
@WaveGlydr5 жыл бұрын
@@nvanpraag Yes, I believe we have the same Omni system. I got mine Nov 2018. Mechanically the bike is a dream to ride but the seamless feature works about 3 out of 10 times. Just doesn't wake up when I approach it. And when it doesn't wake up, I can get on it and ride it (without power) without it going into theft mode. It needs a serious jostling to wake up. The bluetooth connection for the phone app to the bike can be spotty. The GPS has gotten better with the last update but still shows the bike up to half a mile away from its actual location. These things shouldn't be happening on bike this expensive. Have you encountered these issues?

I also had a problem with the bike dying mid-ride. I went through two bike replacements before they figured out what was going on. Where did you buy the bike from? The New Wheel?
@nvanpraag5 жыл бұрын
Dom Johnson Yes, in fact I’ve had both the problems you describe. The Seamless system works selectively (which is annoying but not horrible) and the bike has cut out on me three times randomly, once in the middle of traffic at a stop light in SF. Not good. What was the fix for that particular issue?
@WaveGlydr5 жыл бұрын
It has something to do with the battery connection in the battery compartment. The New Wheel knows how to fix it. Did you buy it from them?

You mailed it at number 3! Super. Here in Belgium it's too late.... They mostly speed aggressive.... So. Licence plates, insurance... Fatal accidents by speed.... And more to come.....there the kings Of The Road...

Thank you Ronny Op de Beeck. Yes, I can feel regulation coming here as well. There are many within the community here in Marin County who are anti-bike across the board and to be fair there are many inconsiderate , entitled road cyclists who fuel the conflict by speeding on bike paths and yelling at cars. I try to keep peace as much as possible :)
