Great news, after a year of testing, "The Fix" rear brake pedal is here! You don't have to deal with the Yamaha T7s spongey rear brake any longer. The issue with the bike's rear brake is not swelling of the OEM rubber brake lines, it's not the compound of the brake pads, and it's also not the quality or size of the master cylinder or caliper. The main issue is a poor leverage ratio.
"The Fix" Features:
-Corrected leverage ratio reducing pedal travel by half compared to stock
-Durable 6.4mm thick 304 stainless steel construction
-Straighter shape to reduce pedal flexing while braking
-Brass bushings to reduce slop in the pedal main pivot point
-Grippy, replaceable stainless steel brake tip
-Offset clevis to correct the master cylinder pushrod angle
-Black powder-coated finish
Patent Pending
100% money-back guarantee. If you still aren't happy with your T7's rear brake after installing "The Fix" send it back for a full refund, no questions asked!

I knew you were working on a new brake lever, but this is so much more then I was expecting. The reduction in travel will save my foot from getting crushed by stumps and rocks countless times. Anyone riding what would be considered extreme terrain for a T7 will completely understand how big of a deal this lever is. THANK YOU 😊

You just know when you buy Camel ADV products your getting the best. I will be getting this as soon as Adventure moto Australia gets stock. All the Camel products i run on my T7 are top quality. Have to be some of the best dirtbike products i have used in my 46 years of riding and racing dirtbikes. It's nice to buy quality parts that are well thought out, tested, made right and do what it says on the box. 👍🏻👍🏻

I put one on my T7. ABSOLUTELY worth the price. It really does 'fix' the rear break. Firm pedal with good 'feel'. About 50% less travel. This is one you NEED on your bike.

Thank you, I come from a road racing background, the rear brake was only used in emergencies and showing off, and the occasional line tightening through a carousel. However the T7 rear brake has been driving me nuts, glad to see there is a fix.

Very impressive! As a production engineer I really appreciate your insight as to how things ended up as they are on the stock assembly. As a new owner of a Tenere 700 I ordered one of your clutch arms since I had one on my old 890 and was impressed with it. I am now going to order the rear brake arm kit since the rear brake feel has bothered me while riding the bike.

I'm quite happy that I came across your newly released solution for that so-so brake feel on the T7. I was looking at the Fasst return-spring kit and maybe going to a YZ master cylinder. I've had the 'stickin rear brake' issue on mine, when the bike was new. My dealer was told by Yamaha technical support that I was draggin the brake with my foot, not even considering the video I sent that clearly showed the lever not returning on it's own... I've not fried my rear brake, luckily, but it definitly never felt good either anyway. Time to upgrade!

Nice piece and im sure it adresses the problems. One remark to the explanations about the law of leverage: when you longer the lever on the pumpside with the hole more outside and then go back with the adapter to centre pressurepoint of the pump, you gain no leverage, the leverage is than the same again like original.

This will be well sorted and good quality. My high exhaust and footpegs still going strong after 10,000ks, mostly off road. Gee only if someone would redesign the poor fuel tank design sitting way above the seat line. Loving riding the T7 with 5 litres of fuel in the tank.

Mine came from dealer mushy like everyone says. Try adjusting the brake adjustment.. almost to max sensitivity. And spray lube the pivot after each ride. Mine works good, locks up as it should off road with abs OFF. About 600 miles off road now. Racing background

Great explanation of everything! But I have question regarding 17:40: what is the purpose of that 'top stop'? Is it there so in case of an accident lever doesn't pull out the piston?

Could you please explain your thoughts on the crashworthyness in terms of hyper/over extension of the brake master cylinder? By removing the hard stop against the frame, I would be concerned an upwards impact on the lever would transfer the force - rip the spring out followed by the piston, before hitting the stop. Would it be possible to make the geometry much closer on that frame stop - even just a nub for that purpose? kzbin.info/www/bejne/a6Kbf4SuZd54fqc Many birds with one stone, looking great!

nice but not convinced by the leverage change. You moved the fixation back but the new bracket compensated the move. As the piston is still at the same place so same leverage (I could be wrong ⁾. But great improvement about friction.

Travel with the offset Clovis will still be more than stock lever.. Longer lever arm still creates more travel than the stock lever.. So should still see improved (reduced travel) at your toe…

We can actually see the comparatively shorter pedal throw in the video, I'm pretty sure their solution is effective enough. I ordered the pedal, so we'll see, but I doubt they would bother releasing a product that does nothing. Not on brand, I would say..

@Antti4548 Жыл бұрын
Well it could be proven easily. We just need video comparing and measuring OEM vs. Camel leverage. Cory makes great products, but his video production are always not so great. He thinks like engineer, not like marketing man.
@timsalabimbombassa
@timsalabimbombassa Жыл бұрын
I asked myself the same question. The up-down movement does actually increase, on condition that the pin into the piston stays in line. Corey showed in the video that there is space for the pin to move,… Changing the angle of the brake pump as a hole would be a theoretical more perfect solution.
@ApocalypseNouille
@ApocalypseNouille Жыл бұрын
@@timsalabimbombassa After having installed and used the new pedal, I can say that the brake actuation has more nuance and positive feedback. No more of that "push on the pedal without feeling any braking, then suddenly locking the rear wheel". I can modulate that brake as it's supposed to and give subtle inputs for more control.

I have seen a Tuareg sitting in the shop and am wondering if you have experienced the same issue with it as you have with the T7? I cannot get my pedal adjusted to remove the long stroke and the lack of feel. It is very similar to your explanation of the T7 fix you just demoed. Just wondering.

My biggest issue with the OEM brake is the fact that it lies slightly underneath the clutch case (I think it's the clutch) and it's always there when I want to brake, gets really annoying. Does this pedal solve my issue in any way or is it just not the point?

I fully agree on the state of the rear brake.... my 20 year old crap bike rear brake feels better. I bought mine used so started trying to bleed it with no effect, then went to dealer to try the new bike and same thing on that. But you just can't criticize this bike apparently.
