The Fix by Q, a VERY brief review with negatives

A very brief iPhone video round up of my shortened encounter with the Fix rifle which I found disappointing with excessive recoil for a 308 cartridge which I later tracked to being the "cherry bomb" brake, which vents forwards so without matching the paired suppressor, utterly pointless.
Sometimes If I want you to believe the highlights, I have to publish the lows!

What's the point of reviewing this as if it was a big heavy precision benchrest rifle, and mounting a scope that weighs more than the rifle itself? Seems like the kind of rifle that you would put a 1-4x lpvo/red-dot, a big muzzle brake and be able to carry for long treks in the wood/mountains or running around in an IPSC Manual Action match as an alternative to the pump-action rifles everyone seems to use.

I was truly set to buy one and all I know is you saved me a bunch of money. It was the honesty of your review that put the "right" things in perspective, thank you very much for that. And here's a thing too, this rifle has been out for what, 4 years now ? plenty of time to have rooted out shortcomings and to have made the improvements. That aspect alone and looking at things from that angle makes an even deeper statement about the company that to me is more disturbing than the issues with the rifle itself. I'll be looking back toward the Sig Cross for half the money so again thanks !

Everything you said can be overcome with training, use and other mods they have. The cherry bomb is there really for moderator use, other brakes available will dampen recoil, the BiG Butt pad will mitigate recoil, the whole concept is for a lightweight optimised bolt action AR platform for hunting, PRS more so than bench shooting, also is much more manageable in 6.5creedmopr recoil wise etc with a longer barrel also - you’re the only reviewer Yank or otherwise that has done nothing but poo poo it from the start that says a lot. Every rifle has is flaws but this once you understand it is a great bit of kit

Your “honest” review and another demonstration I watched (where 6’3 240lb man flinched) told me everything. .308 caliber is “marginally” considered “low recoil” caliber (~14.5 lb/ft) round. And that doesn’t take into account the weapon design. I turned away from this amazingly crafted and beautiful rifle because the lightweight design compromises that practical application for which it is intended. Shots will be much harder Recoil will be incredible to manage You guys saved me $3.4K (minimum). Cheers!

This was never intended to be a bench rest rifle. It’s light weight because it meant to be hauled around unforgiving terrain. But heavy guns are much more enjoyable to shoot at a sit down range.
