I once visited Newfoundland in 2013, I went many places that year but I still wind up thinking about my time on the island nearly every day. It will forever have a special place in my heart as one of the most warm and inviting places I've ever been (contrary to what the weather report may say). Being part American myself I'll never forget the hospitality you showed us on that terrible day back in 2001; I'll never forget the kindness and hospitality that I was shown upon my visit. I hope to see it again one day. Long may your big jib draw -JT

This was the republic of Newfoundland flag
@Ryan9806310 жыл бұрын
no it was not. It was never "official", although it was used some people as a populist flag on houses, ships, etc. This flag was originally an Irish Catholic flag, And we were never a Republic, as a republic means we would have been like the Americans and rebelled against the Crown, which is anything but the case in Newfoundland. We were the Dominion of Newfoundland. That all being said, I have a tricolour hanging out my window right now. God guard thee Newfoundland.
@NationalPartyNLNp10 жыл бұрын
Newfoundland and Labrador United Party true that, we were a colony of britain all along, but hopefully some day we can be a republic and we dont have the same opinion as the mainland do, we are more rural and like to find the best ways we can make money and make whats better for Newfoundland but ottawa cant be on the same terms
@Ryan9806310 жыл бұрын
TheNewfoundlandMusic Unless you actually want to see the Monarchy burned and the Lt. Governor Frank Fagan chased from his post and most of the rules of the House of Assembly - then you would actually want the Constitutional Monarchy in the country of Newfoundland, and not the "Republic of Newfoundland", as republic actually defines an (often violent) overthrow of the crown. But you might be a Republican and an anti-monarchist which is fine too
@NationalPartyNLNp10 жыл бұрын
Any commonwealth country can separate from the crown through votes in govt or referendum, we don't need violence in a democracy, Scotland almost did last year. I would like to see Newfoundland have its own president, congress, court system and direct representitive democracy. monarchy or constitutional monarchy is old style government time to get with the new lol im pro democracy and Libertarian
@ruthlesskumquat29189 жыл бұрын
+Ryan98063 who the hell needs a monarchy in this day and age? a bunch of snooty old oligarch frauds turning their noses up at us "peasants". theyre frauds anyways. the winsors real names are saxa-coburg-gotha they changed it around the time of the war so as to not be associated with the germans.
