Going from 4 PPVs a year to monthly PPVs has also changed how tv is done

37:00 It doesn't help that AEW beats the people from their partner promotions like a drum all the time, rendering them like nothing. How many years has Ishii been showing up on AEW TV and how many matches has he actually won?

He literally has never won a 1 on 1 match on AEW TV

I don’t care about any AEW vs Outsider match, they never have a remote shot at winning unless AEW is planning to sign them. Then they disappear.

It's a matter of consistency for me with AEW. I don't make it a priority to watch the TV because I'm usually sure it'll be bad or just "okay". If they have like a month of consistently good TV then I might start tuning in again.

Fun Fact: the term Restore The Feeling originated from Brooklyn born rapper, Troy Ave in 2012. This was because the South was dominating on the charts & radio and the New York rap scene was in a slump. It was so bad, NY radio played way more southern hip hop then their own. So Troy got hot and came up with the Restore The Feeling, like when New York was killing it through the mid 90s to the early 00s.

The fact that WWE has tapes of wrestling history slowly deteriorating and they refused to save them is insane. You could get people using a duplicator to get the raw interlaced video and save that raw file for the if/when ai could improve the quality. The best hope we have is a fan who works for the archive asking if they could do it on their free time and their boss doesn't care because it's 40 year old non WWE wrestling with out Dusty in it so it doesn't count to WWE.

I don't think Dynamite has fundamentally changed since 2023. It's the audience that changed over time. They want something else. The shows have been presented and formatted in the exact same way for years, and the fans realize it has become outdated, predictable and devolved. It doesn't help that all 4 shows are all branded in the exact same way too.

Piped in crowd noise is actually what ran me off of AEW, along with the MJF/Cole & timeless toni sports entertainment BS

The most basic problem with AEW is they haven't created any new genuine stars. Ospreay came in and has lost matches cleanly for some reason to get other people over when he wasn't established yet. Why is he losing to Kyle fucking Fletcher? Because Fletcher is a "good wrestler" when those are a dime a dozen in AEW? You can't tell me Ospreay is a big deal when he wasn't won the World Title. For comparison Cody Rhodes didn't lose for a whole year in WWE. Their PPVs do well because their hardcore fans travel and buy the shows, that's it. They're fine with just good matches for the sake of good matches. You can't do that week to week. You aren't going to get the PPV traveling audience every week. 1:16:45 Yes. Good matches for good matches' sake do not draw on TV. You need people to care about these characters to *want* to tune in if you want growth. People didn't pay tickets to Raw for years to see Austin, Rock, Cena, Cody, etc because they put on "great matches".

I'd rather admit to watching wrestling for athletics and simulated combat over "fake reality TV stars who display their aura". Y'all openly admitting you watch this the way Kevin Dunn did. Beauty contest with fake fights.
