The Flambeau Parade - Comrie Perthshire, 2023

Comrie, Perthshire - The 2023 Flambeau Parade.
In a beautiful corner of Perthshire, this annual parade of marching men carrying flambeaux (flaming poles) is said to ward off evil spirits. The volunteers who do this walk to all four corners of the village while carrying the heavy burning poles. The Comrie Pipe Band leads them and following up at the rear is the (always topical) fancy-dress parade.
It is a beautiful spectacle to see.
