Yes, we know we have covered this one before, but it's very much a team favourite and we always intended to go back and do a remake. This has all new artwork, much better narration and sound quality as well as a wealth of added information, particularly around the keepers themselves. There are also one or two new theories regarding what happened. Enjoy!

@@juliatownsend5922 hello back to you Julia. I've found some other quality creepy youtube channels as well such as Top Mysteries and Top5s. Here in the States, there is the Missing 411/Canam Project which deals with unbelievably bizarre disappearances in the national parks in the US and Canada. BTS has included some of these. Plus Buzzfeed Unsolved which is delivered with a style of gallows humor. Check these out if you haven't already. They've been keeping me enthralled, a sort of dark escapism.

I find it interesting that the only real thing that separates "a mystery " from what obviously happened, is the lack of somebody actually witnessing it. I feel for those 3 men. Stuck on an island with no concrete way to communicate to the mainland and no way to get back, in such treacherous and clearly, life threatening conditions. RIP. It's so frustrating when people continue to attach falsehoods to an otherwise true story and muddy the whole thing. Even *if* the log entries of weeping and irritability had existed, it doesn't prove murder or a sudden psychotic break on the part of any of the three men.

@@aimeem yeah the "explanation" that they killed each other was always the most far fetched to me. It's just... why? There was never a real reason for it. It took a lot of empty conjecture not supported by facts. The most important thing to me is the way the lighthouse was damaged. That we do know to be true. While it might seem risky to try to go out in a storm and work on it, especially lacking rain gear, it doesn't stretch of the facts.

The more clear information over what was embellished over the years (and a reminder that clocks then needed to be wound) to me, this just feels like a horrible accident as opposed to foul play or aliens. Happy to have you back!!!! Hope all is well. As far as the mystery itself, the reasons I can think of for one not needing their oil skins would be: 1. As suggested, just a quick check outside. 2. Had to rush out in an intense hurry to help or save someone. 3. The individual did not need one - as in they were already deceased? Could the keeper that had been there for too long have lost it, only to be accidentally killed by the two others, perhaps trying to restrain him? In a panic they straightened up and decided to toss the body, thus dawning their gear, only to fall in with the deceased?

This really shows how far you've come with this channel well done all involved. I stumbled upon your Zigmund Adamski video many years ago now, fell in love your channel there and then, was so excited to binge watch your other stuff only to realise the original of this and the Adamaski one were your only episodes out lol Watched those first episodes more than I'd like to admit lol Still check in every Sunday in case notification decides to not work, normally end up re watching the latest few tucked up in bed, as it is Bedtime Stories 😁

In case someone will be interested. There’s an amazing point and click horror adventure game, _Dark Fall: Lights Out_ based on this incident, from Jonathan Boakes - the creator of such an amazing game as “Lost Crown: Ghosthunting Adventure “ and many others in that style. It’s truly a creepy and exciting ghost hunting game with chilling eerie atmosphere, and if you enjoyed listening to the story, I recommend you give it a go.

Bedtime Stories, this was probably one of the most Spookiest stories of yours I seen so far...but it got me thinking of this movie which was recently done a few years back shot here in Nova Scotia, Canada, simply called "The Lighthouse". That movie dealt mainly with the lives of the two lighthouse keepers, one an old salty veteran of the Lighthouse watch, and the other, a brand new young fellow, sent to the remote lighthouse to man it along with the older guy. What happens throughout the movie is the slow descent into madness from the long time period of lonliness experienced by Lighthouse keepers, and what eventually happens when the relief fails to show up at the allotted time to relieve them.

The fact that their fate is unknown makes it a mystery in the same way as the disappearance of someone sailing solo around the world. It was a dangerous, treachorous place where death can happen easily. One of your better video though. Nice to see you becoming more prosaic.

I think it is possible that they got Folie à deux. I mean they were left alone in a secluded place, with no contact with the outside world. If even one of them succumbed to some sort of delusions, the others could get affected by it too. It would've explained why despite their experience they would've gone out during dangerous weather conditions and why one of them didn't take his coat. I mean in 2008 two twin sisters ran in front of a car and a lorry, and almost died, a married couple once thought that their house is being invaded and that the invaders spread fluff and dust and wear-down their shoes. In 2016 an entire Australian family went on a run because they thought someone is out to kill them. and it was pretty sudden too. and let's not forget the dancing plague. Plus when it comes to disorders different people react differently...and we still don't know what truly causes this particular one.

I still am creeped out because of the dancing plague. The concept sounds fun... but the experience is dreadful, I admit.

@callmecatalyst Well, even ridiculous theories can actually have a lot of neritt. Remember the theory where the precursors to the FBI poisoned illegal alcohol containers so as to further the Prohibition for good? The theory where Soviet spies actually intensified the amount of protests in Western nations during the Cold War, let alone funded some peace movements? Crazy, but true after many years of mystery.

The ending got me emotional man three men who lost their lives two of them who had families and kids which were left with no closure of what happened but you're right abt the delusional stuff we can never know what is going on in a person's mind and lonely place like a lighthouse and being so detached from the real world is terrifying May their souls find peace

I imagine two of them were out working on repairs after the storm tore up one of the landings, something unexpected came up, the third man rushed out from the lighthouse to help, and they all fell into the water. Hypothermia sets in pretty fast out in the North Sea, and the Flannan Isles are 32km out from the nearest inhabited islands. A week is a long time for wind and tide to carry away bodies.

Just superb. The best I've seen so far for capturing the right tone, pace, length, balance without tipping into absurdity, and delivery of facts. The artwork is absolutely spot on, and very beautifully animated to just the right degree. The music and sounds slot in unobtrusively and evoke the appropriate mood. I look forward to dipping into these regularly.
