Jenocy Aguado we can dream, can't we. I mean why else would that make Iris so unbearable episode after episode? Unless they just really think that's what leading women are like and if so I weep for them, I really do. I prefer to think they're purposefully making Iris as unbearable as possible until one day (near the end of season 5) she takes a step back and has an epiphany: that in trying to live up to her internal ideal of what a superhero's spouse is supposed to be she's become everything she hated, everything they'd all been telling Norajr she wasn't and has been building towards since the end of season 3, the start of season 4: an overbearing control freak who always thinks she's right and whose opinions should be taken as gospel, even when she has no idea what she's talking about. Then she applies for a job as a journalist in a city with no superhero's and starts to build a new life of her own, without Barry ('The city needs their hero. They need you, Barry.') and he starts to rebuild his with the support of the West's and his team who he actually makes time for now that he's not twisting himself into Iris' idea of who *he* should be, and a few months later they meet up, realise that while they miss each other (as friends) they're both really happy with the lives they've built/re-built for themselves and sign the divorce papers and part as friends...in two cities *very* far apart. With only the occasional "yeah Iris is doing good, she's dating someone new. I'm really happy for her." Honestly, it could end up being the best for all concerned, because the toxic co-dependent relationship they've got going on should not be in any way shape or form be peddled as 'the golden couple' to anyone because they're pretty close to being my version of 'relationship fears', and probably a lot of people's actually.

The more parallels they have, the more I wonder---Is SnowBarry the real Endgame couple? I mean if they didn't have so much in common I would just chock it up to coincidence, but with as much as they mirror each other, I am beginning to think that something more is at play and that WA is just a ticking time bomb waiting to explode at a given time.

you forgot to mention that Cait and Barry literally looked directly at each other in the last one when Cisco said that speed and cold don't mix. Like they're subconsciously thinking... "Yeah right!!" you know, when the show started, I didn't really have too much against WA. They were best friends in school before Nora's murder and then Iris undoubtedly helped him through the emotional shit that came after. Barry falling for her made some sort of sense to me. The fact that they both call Joe dad bothered me a little... but, logically, I knew it wasn't incest. But as the seasons progressed, I realized that Barry was literally obsessed with Iris. I mean, we see him try to move on from Iris in Linda and Patty... but he doesn't really put in the effort. Iris essentially sabotages Linda and Barry from the start, though thankfully Eddie's death seems to allow Patty and Barry to get into their relationship w/o overt interference from the Felicity of Flash. But then Barry, in true Oliver fashion, breaks his own rules for Iris. Where he broke up with Linda and literally drove Patty away over Flash related issues, when the likes of Girder and Savitar threaten Iris due to her connection to the Flash, he sics Team Flash on saving her and continues his relationship with her instead of distancing himself as he does with Linda and Patty. Hell, Patty said she'd stay and be with Barry if he'd stop lying and fess up to being the Flash - giving up her chance to become a CSI to be with the man she loves. But Iris, instead of supporting him, tells him he can't depend on her affection to get him through his father's death, driving him to create Flashpoint out of desperation, which leads to the creation of Savitar - and still, Barry chases after Iris. And when the Savitar arc starts, instead of actually trying to help Caitlin with Killer Frost, Barry hands her off to Julian and Cisco while he and Iris make everything about Iris. Caitlin was right to say, "You have Iris. Everyone else be damned." I have grown to truly despise Iris and what she's done to Barry and the team, much like Felicity pretty much screwed up Arrow. I hope Flash writers are smarter and don't wait until Flash season 6 to fix the team dynamics. And hopefully, whatever crisis Cicada causes or some choice words from Nora shows the team what Iris is doing to them by focusing everything around her (especially when Barry said Cisco was supposed to be team leader at the end of season 3) and Barry and Caitlin actually get a chance. I hold out hope. *SnowBarry Forever*
