Barry’s speed not being good enough to save the day is unfortunately becoming a recurring theme. Lately, Team Flash has to had to rely on their own enemies’ compassion to win, and that’s not a good direction for the show to take, or at least not on a regular basis. The main character failing to win and then having to talk the villain out of fighting isn’t an exciting or fun formula for a superhero series, and one that will hopefully be abandoned in the near future. The Flash needs to remind viewers that Barry can be a force to be reckoned with in combat.

They can get rid of Cisco, Wells, etc., but the can’t kill her off as it would mean the end of the show. Same reason as they would never kill off Martian Manhunter or Alex on Supergirl and why the never killed off Felicity in all 8 seasons despite fans not liking her. Some characters they can’t kill off for story reasons.

The thing is I’ve been watching this show since the second season came out and I’ll tell you this every time someone finds out Barry’s identity and they are taken in by team flash one of two things happen mostly. 1) That person or persons eventually die. 2) Or they become a part of team flash. But if I learned anything from season 4 is that when a minor character dies it’s most likely permanent but when a major character dies they for sure are coming back unless they’ve had enough time on the show of course. So for once I’d like the average allies to actually survive and go on with their lives.

No. the actual issue is the forces assimilated the humans as a host. They don't have "broken pasts". This is why Barry tells Dion that he needs to make it as if the Still Force never found him.

@@israeliqueen153 I believe to disagree. For instance. The person who has "Still Force" said that he wanted to "change" what happened on that pivotal day. But unable to. The person who has the "Sage Force", his past was abandonment by both pairs of parents (before the infusion of the force). The person who has the "Strength Force" was addicted, and disowned by parents. At least three of the people have broken pasts before the forces took them as hosts.

See it’s moments like this where I feel that it’s a rerun of season 4 with the bus metas you know where some come to join team flash but in the end they all die. Honestly I don’t want to see the other forces die off already but the fact that Iris was killed with them lifted my spirits the moment she hit the floor knowing that they will be able to bring them back.

The only problem I have with this episode is that it is predictable. In the past the Flash was less predictable. As of late (season 7 for the most part) you know what is going to happen. What will happen next is Barry with Cisco (who leaves as a regular after the next episode) and Katlyn will come up with a way to defeat the Speedforce (mom) and revive the three of them. Why do I know this? Because we all know they won't leave Iris dead for long - they never do (especially after the first time she died - this is just repeating that storyline now). I know they have one more season they will be paid to do it but the show is not as original as it used to be.
