Even though Eddie thinks killing himself did nothing. It gave Barry and his friends time to stop the singularity and future villains down the timeline. Also, Eobard ended up in moments where he was in a fate worst than death. Trapped in an endless cycle of sorts. Thinking he won but instead lost. Just a theory. Thanks to anyone who reads this.

Did anyone notice how the thing says "Known only as the reverse flash"? It is just like how his origin begins. Once Thawne gets his abilities, he travels into the past to find the flash museum. Or it may still be a thing by the time he gets his powers. Anyways, no one knows the reverse flash's name in the future. But he notice's a ring on the RF suit that is the same design as the one Thawne just made. He then realizes that he is destined to become RF. Although, I think the show's origin is a bit different

Actually, the Reverse-Flash's name was public and when Thawne traveled back to that time in the Flash Museum, he saw his name and his fate as Reverse-Flash. That's how and why he became Reverse-Flash, not because of the ring or anything like this. And they did the same in the original multiverse (S5) but here, they didn't make his name public.
