Grant talking about his tv Mom dying and how it affected him... It affected me too! I lost my Mom almost 3 years ago now... it sucks! I went back to re-watch The Flash and seeing that scene ripped me apart. No one really understands just how much it hurts to lose your Mom unless you've gone through it. I can relate to Grant about having anxiety over doing things right or correct. When I make mistakes, I’m really hard on myself. My dad had served in the army and he stressed that you don’t make mistakes; you can help people, but you don’t ask for help and put things back the way you found them. So, it’s hard for me to change that mindset when being raised like that. 😔

Just in the middle of the podcast. Really appreciate the insights that Grant has about his marriage to LA. I recently got married in 2017. As a person with anxiety, I often had trouble navigating through the constant sea of thoughts, feelings and my own "inner monologue". I have since realized that I find great comfort having an open dialogue with my husband about the random things that get me nervous throughout the day. Though I am quite logical and level headed, I really appreciate my husband's point of view as it is always eye-opening, hilarious and incredibly on-point. Not only does he help me feel more at ease, Kelvin has developed a more open communication style about what his needs are. This openness in communication has definitely ensured that we are both on the same page.

What's terrific about this interview, thanks to its honesty, is that it smashes the cultural conditioning that 'making it', ie achieving career/material 'success' is the be-all and end-all, and is some Golden Path to lifelong casual happiness. Instead, Grant and Stephen Amell's honesty reveals that being a TV leading man is what it is, a job, and a highly demanding one that brings its own challenges. Thank you to Michael for conducting these interviews and getting to the reality of it all.

Grant being cast as The Flash was the best decision ever! He was so young when he was given this big role and he did carried it so well as the lead. And he still doing so well- professionally and personally. We have seen actor's personal lives go down once they become a huge star.. but Grant stayed humble and down to earth...I loved that he comes across so humble till now.

You see, this is the kind of interview with a 'celebrity' that I appreciate. Literally felt like a therapy session. It's nice to be able to uncover the person inside of the celebrity; because that's exactly who they are at the end of the day. Everyone, no matter what path life may lead them to, has gone through the struggle, anxiety of getting them to that point. Grant, seems like such a genuine person and despite all the success, still remains humble and appreciative of the journey! I hope that in time, he's able to view himself as worthy enough to have all these things and believes it too!

It pays to take time to listen. I remember, I moved back to Nashville, TN in 1995 having previously gone to College there from 1986 to 1991, and the go to Church I had gone to before leaving for graduate school, no longer had a Singles Sunday School Class, so I went to a new Church that had a Singles Class, but I was not known nor did I know anyone there very well. I loved the preacher, but I wanted to know the people, and the Church numbered 1,200 with a class of 60 Single Adults, so for 6 months I went to Sunday School and did not comment, I just listened so I could get to know people and see how they interacted with one another. I'm a very talkative person by nature, but for 6 months all the young adults thought I was quiet, because I chose to listen, and listening for 6 months paid big dividends as when I did begin to converse, I came from a place of understanding and not coming across as narcissistic and it paid big dividends, as I had a better understanding of how to bond with a group of 20 adults out of the 60 and formed life long friendships I still have to this day. Later, I realized upon letting a girlfriend who was between place to live, to come and live with me for 3 months, she soon discovered I was more quiet than I was talkative and I told her, I need many hours of quiet to think, and process, plus since I was comfortable with her coming from a big family, I was at rest when she was around, and she being an only child had a harder time with the silence assuming something was wrong between her and II, instead of me feeling peaceful enough to be quiet and relax. I love conversation as you can see from the length of this comment, but I find listening and just being there as a ministry of presence is more important than always talking. Being quiet to think or listen pays big dividends in your life to improve yourself with the people you love so you are a better person today than you were yesterday!

Absolutely loved this one Rosey great editing as usual, thank you Ryan I’ve been listening for about 5 months now and found the podcast very helpful on a personal level. But one of the things that I pick up on through all of the episodes and is highlighted beautifully in this episode is how I can be there for my son. My son is 17 and has quite a bit of talent (I keep thinking it’s just because I’m his dad that I think that but then I see him on stage) he almost always gets the part he auditions for and I’m so damn proud of him. But community theatre in the UK is a long way from the west end, broadway or film and tv. However these stories of how people did just this and dealt with their anxieties and sometimes negative outside influences and barriers to success really help me to be a supportive influence to him Thank you from the bottom of my heart for having these conversations it really does mean the world to me

@@insideofyoupodcast2510 I'm not saying the story is untrue. I'm just saying it sounded a little 'naughty'. Your unexpected and purportedly unintended dollop of tempered yet delicious raunchiness caught my attention. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Being famous is not easy, these actors are people, sometimes we think or believe that they live a happy life, but in reality, not like seeing the flahz and arrow, those series you never missed, I really liked this podcast with Interview Grant Gustin !! For so much running gets tired haha

Thank you, that was one gorgeous surprise at the beginning! ^^ Thank you for another great interview, I watch the Flash and Grant's a fantastic actor (has anyone seen the latest ep, for example? WOW!!)... I hope that you'll get a chance to be on stage again, Rosey. It sounds like your heart is longing for it. You can do it.

From the anxiety and depression at a young age to the imposter syndrome...it’s like I was listening to him read my mind! I am so grateful he has LA because it seems like she’s really opened him up and helps anchor him so his mind doesn’t race too much with anxiety (it still happens but I’m sure she is extremely helpful with handling it). It’s wonderful to see Grant smile. Thank you for having him on here!

Didn't know a lot about Grant outside of his role, but finding out he's a really great and humble guy makes me like him even more. I wasn't into DC growing up, but Grant and Stephen made it worth checking out. I've always wondered how some actors are able to film such intense/epic scenes(referring to the season 1 finale moment he has with his mom) and how it affects them. It's always a scene I show people. Hopefully we're able to get a couple more seasons out of him, and maybe he can even carve out some extra time for theater when he renegotiates his contract.

Awesome episode! I don’t think I’ve ever seen/read/heard an interview with Grant, so I appreciated this. He seems like a good guy. I’ve been a fan of his since he was on Glee, as the character I loved to hate! 😉 Keep up the stellar episodes and you know I love ya and I’m always here to support this podcast and all you do. ♥️

Hey Rosey, just wanted to thank you for doing this podcast. I know you know it helps people, but it helps people probably even more than you realize. This podcast has been helping me since I graduated high school in 2018 and I just wanted to thank you for spreading so much positivity. You are an awesome dude and in my opinion, the best Lex Luthor to date.

Both of them feeling lucky to play the fastest man. Then they meet each other. Imagine the literal chills down their spines upon seeing each other. There might be some slight criticism in their minds or jealousy but most of all , both of them would feel proud of one another. 😁

I’ve recently started drama & comedy, musical theatre and film & tv classes because I absolutely love it. But I struggle horribly with anxiety like at times it makes me want to give up because sometimes it can really become too much but I push through it because I won’t ever let it win. I also suffer with OCD. It can all ruin and take away SO much. Just watching this and hearing about Grants story it really inspires me and it motivates me to carry on and I just wish I could tell him how much this interview made me feel so much better about myself and made me want to just carry on because anxiety is terrifying and it feels amazing to be able to relate to someone it makes you feel less alone and this definitely gave me a lot more belief. Thank you Grant💖

Gotta go get my tires changed now. However I am half way into this and will continue upon getting back home. I loved the intro: almost spit my coffee out when you said „I am a grinder“ 🤣 the guest on the intro was an amazing surprising change. Probably not something for every week but as a treat every so often. And I can already tell I like the sound, the cut... you guys found a great way of keeping the podcast going even with what is going on now.
