Barry was the child left behind; a mother taken from him, his father leaving him not once, but three times, first prison, then after his release, and finally in his murder.
But Joe West was always there. He was there to give love, to help Barry put his life together after having it shattered, to be that person to stay.

Just a short while ago, I happened to be thumbing my way through KZbin and came across this song. I immediately fell in love with it. Joe West is one of the best (father) characters there are on the CW Network. Jesse L. Martin is aces in my book. They (Grant & Jesse) bring out the best in one another with their father and son bonding on screen. I forget the episode number. But it’s season 2, after they rescue jay from zoom’s lair on earth 2. They take off that massive helmet thing he was trapped in and Barry sees that Jay (earth3 flash) is his dad’s doppelgänger. It’s either the 2nd to last, or the last episode of s2
