I almost fell over when Abby started in on the spoons. I'm over 60 and born and raised in the hills of East Tennessee and I've never in my life ever seen or heard anyone play the spoons like that woman. I hope she teaches. _Abby, Goddess of Spoons_

Spoon Lady is the star here. The guy with the laptop was going behind her to get a shot of her hands. Compare her technique with any of the others you see and their action is usually between their palm and knee. Spoon Lady does that impressive fingers and thumb striking that the old timers used. It's all about showmanship, you know.

Great music. Spoons and fiddle are fantastic. I wish I could hear the banjo and bass better. Also live the dog. He knows he’s clearly in the presence of great music. Finally, the guitar laying on its back makes me worry that someone will step on it. Anyway, I love this style of music. It gets you to tapping your feet and wanting to move.
