Thank you for this. The only other video of this was deleted and I have been searching for it since. Thank you.

Victor Schertzinger directed this film and wrote all the songs for it (to my knowledge, only two other filmmakers, Charlie Chaplin and Clint Eastwood, both directed and scored their own films). This became a ballad-rock hit for British singer Frank Ifield in 1962 (and in order to get the U.S. rights to his record the Dee-Jay label also had to take on a minor little band called the Beatles) but this version is better. Also check out Cannonball Adderley's jazz version from 1959.

@Mark Conlan-Thank you very much for sharing some of the backstory; fills in some of the spaces, and represents why people use YT. Gems hidden under a whelter of debris; your comment should be pinned to some sort of all-star list of all-time best comments, but, Alas, I guess that is not how we roll. Thanks.

The label was Vee Jay. Not Dee Jay.

I remember, too, a distant bell and stars that fell Like the rain out of the blue-ooh-ooh-ooh-hoo-hoo-hoo When my life is through And the angels ask me to recall The thrill of it all Then I will tell them I remember you-ooh The other "angels". No one but actual angels (dozens of them) would put up with me these....... never you mind.
