Welcome to a chilling journey "Inside the Drug Capital of America: Zombie Town - Kensington Ave." In this eye-opening video, we'll explore the harrowing reality of Kensington Avenue in 2024, a place where unthinkable horrors have taken root where fentanyl mixed with tranq is now eating peoples flesh . In this documentary, I delved into Kensington Avenue in Philadelphia, where I had the opportunity to interview people facing addiction and to immerse myself in the daily life of those inhabiting what is often known as "zombie town." My objective was to offer an authentic, first-hand glimpse into the realities of residing in this distressing community, often regarded as one of America's most unsettling places.

Both my parents, one an accountant, the other a Property developer were eaten alive when they became addicted to Tranq. They told me that the Buzz they got off it was incredible and thanked their Drug Dealer, who usually supplied Coke to them. But then they went to work in a Zombie state, and clients started to dwindle. Their flesh was slowly eaten by Tranq. Fuck me it is a powerful drug!! They are both dead now, as they were reduced to only bone. Holy Fuck.

I used to be homeless with my dad, many mental illnesses, many military vets with mental illness, many people that left abusive households and relationships, druggies, but EVERYONE had a story and everyone fell on hard times. It only took ONE single bad step to make them fall into these hard times. Never get too comfortable, it can all be taken away in one swift step. Many need mental help, many need counseling, many need healing, many need love, but we all need hope.

I agree. She also said she got hooked on opiates after the doctor prescribed them to her for an injury. I’ve been taking opiates for 17 years, Vicodin for CRPS a nerve disease from an injury. I just take it if I need it. So I truly believe people who abuse drugs and chase that high are running from emotions, feelings they don’t want to deal with. Life is hard but you have to deal with reality and know your limitations and consequences from mistakes. I wish them all the best.

Matters witch type of Drugs! Alcohol? Pills. Meth...Fentanyl are the worst once. Is the LIFE they live.24/7 by cold, rain, snow or heat: you must make SURE, to get what you need. This type of stress, to look, get, do anything...to make money. As a Addict, U must make sure to get the dose u need. Opiat, like Heroin, is NOT tozxic for the body. Many ppl have no idea. Thats why Alcohol is Nr.1! a cell destroxer. With Heroin, if is pure or clean: you can became 100 yrs old. I never understand WHY somebody who need it, who is used to it (No. I dont mean painkiller pills)...is illegal to use it, but, Pharmacy have right to SELL Morphium. Like Europe: Addicts must use Morphium. Thats legal. But, it doesnt work like H. Cough Syrup_for your Kids? Hope you know is synthetic heroin inside? In afghanistan Heroin they are using it for many health issues. In late 1920 s you can buy it in evry drug store. It was a Medicine. Later...they turned it to a Drug. EVRYthing IS or can be a Drug! I live with it for 32 yrs. Many of this poor people are addicted BC of Pharmacy pain killers pills. Believe me: IF they will have H. they will be hralthy. Addicted. But healthy. Fentanyl..WHO turn this dr*g scene in to a fentanyl country? There was a Plan. Nobody will like to use it just like that. Maybe, they dont even know, that fentanyl was mixed inside? never trust the government. Even they know all this, they will never tell you. Sorry. I write too much. Thats my opinion about that.

As an alcoholic - I've been sober for 5 months - all I can tell that somebody who is addicted must face time where he/she must understand in what dirt he/she stepped in. There is a movie with Leonardo di Caprio : The basketball diaries where he's playing young man addicted to heroin. I won't make any spoilers but there's a scene how his friend helped him quit his addiction. It was brutal but necessary. Good luck to you and your son 👍

It's so sad to see the people of Kensington like this. I had to move from the Frankford area. I love Philly, but when no one would help a guy in a laundry mat who was having a seizure, and I was the only one to help him. I felt helpless. How can you not try to help a human being !!! I stayed with him and tried to let him know someone was there for him. So sad. I hope he is ok.

@@bhavanihs8168 thank you for caring and asking. I have embarrassing medical issues that prevent me from working. I was living with my mom, but she was hit by a car, needed surgery m, and we became homeless. She’s living with my sister now. I make the most of the situation. It’s not all bad. I think of myself as an urban camper. I try to stay out of the drama of street life, but it finds me. I’ve been beat up, threatened... but the worst part is the dirty looks people give me. It hurts emotionally. It’s easy to understand why so many on the street turn to drugs to deal with the pain... I’m trying to get out of this situation, but I have to get my medical conditions taken care of; I’m trying to brave and face the doctors and do everything the insurance company is demanding, but It’s humiliating, and I’m afraid, and also untrusting of the medical establishment... Im not in a shelter, because my social anxiety makes going to a shelter so stressful, so I am outside. Yes, drugs have definitely played a role in me being out here, for sure... I’m trying to educate myself in addiction and trying to learn new ways of thinking and living. I’ve also been trying to grow spiritually: learning to rely on a higher power, surrendering to something greater, and wiser than me, not relying on my my logic, letting myself feel the emotions of my trauma. I’m the kind of person who seeks revenge... it’s bad. Instead of feeling hurt, I focus on getting even. I have to learn to forgive myself, and others for their mistakes, but I still have a lot of learning to do. Sorry this turned into a rant! Thanks for your words! It’s true, life is so much more than drugs. I want the best life experience possible, and I know that drugs get in the way of TRUE happiness. There’s a lot of wisdom out there, studying the words of Jesus helps a lot I’m not a “Bible Christian,” but I am a student of Jesus: an amazing teacher on forgiveness. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to rant a little... I wish you the very best! 💖👍

He was a high functioning person like her and truly going places.. Yet got prescribed pain meds and it was over from there not knowing he had an addictive personality. I can’t stress this enough. I am so glad you reached out to somebody local that actually knew the neighborhood no scare tactic at all but at the wrong time of day or in the wrong spot, you really can be killed kidnapped whatever it’s like a Third World country down here now, I never thought I would see anything like this in America and that’s not to down anybody who is battling addiction. We’re going through it right now it’s just how rough it has gotten a lot of people really don’t value life like most of us do especially when that’s their day-to-day life, pray somehow our country can find a way out of this. I can’t believe the government has allowed it to get this bad and unfortunately there’s no magic drug I pray to God somehow they find something but the fact is it’s not just the addiction that all of those people in the US are going to have to overcome or possibly the world. I don’t know how widespread it is, but it’s the trauma that they experienced while being out there on the run like that I don’t know if decades is even enough time to overcome all of that God bless thank you for the video. I think it’s important that people see how bad it really is here in America not just with the drug epidemic, but with the crime and even the cost of living I mean people are finding them selves homeless doing everything right and just simply not being able to make enough money to make ends meet and then they wind up out on the street and things happen and that sucks it really does again I pray somehow as a country we can come together and fix this I don’t know if there is an answer, but I pray somehow we find one

As a Lay Crisis Counselor/First Responder 45yrs in Seattle area, I can honestly say enabling policies like free drug handout programs & safe injection sites is only creating more addicts! In the early 80s dems pushed Free Methadone clinics to help people overcome the herion addictions! Herion you can wean the body & brain off of in approximately 2 wks! Methadone the body & brain will always then crave! So they have been creating incurable addicts! For years I have sadly had to describe it as slow assisted suicide! But in reality there are those high up that have been complaining of overpopulation for a great many years, then people forget that part when these same people are involved getting these enabling policies enacted! 💔 Truly heartbreaking spirals! Tough love however does save lives! Many hands make light work, & Evil flourishes if good men do nothing! Praying without ceasing for all the innocent!

This is heart wrenching! I’ve lost too many family members to addiction, these people are not lower than anyone. They are in a horrible place in their life. It’s not a situation of socioeconomics either. My family is old money, high society and I’ve lost my siblings, aunts, uncles. I have not and never will drink alcohol or do drugs. When I have had surgeries, I refuse the pain medication unless it’s ibuprofen or acetaminophen. One surgery was so painful that the doctors overruled me and put me out for 3 days. I understood why but I was in such fear of becoming an addict that I refused to leave hospital until I’d seen a therapist and was positive I was not addicted to anything. I wasn’t, never even had shakes. Everyone has trauma in their lives, no one can judge anyone else. This is soul crushing. Now with all the fentanyl in the States and so easy to get, it’s a bloody mess. These are people who are loved and missed. If not, then their family and friends are wretched but one can choose their family. Doesn’t have to be blood related. May God watch over them and work Himself into their hearts. 😢

I was an IV H addict for over 12 years. I was homeless, living on the streets, sleeping anywhere I could. Under bleachers, behind buildings, in unlocked cars, in the woods. Wearing big green trash bags and covering myself in leaves to try and stay dry in the rain. Eating out of barrels and off of benches. I've been spit on, called every name in the book, shoved, had things thrown at me, SA'd and beaten for no reason. I've lost so many friends to addiction I sadly can't even count. But for some reason....i survived. I beat my addiction. I just celebrated my 6th year of sobriety this past Jan. '24. About 2 years before I got sober, Fentanyl was just starting to show up in our H. No one knew what it was or why certain people had stuff that was so strong. But everyone was looking for that one. Who had the good stuff. I'm so thankful I got out when I was able to. I honestly believe I would no longer be here if I hadn't. Thank you God. And God bless all of those out there still sick and struggling, still suffering when they needn't be. My heart goes out to each and everyone of them. Addiction doesn't discriminate. It can happen to ANYone. ❤

You got the truth behind everyone's start on the horrid path to drugs, and you spoke to many professionals who just couldn't cope anymore. What a sad state of affairs they have come to, not just being homeless but also addicted, and perhaps with a little help and support beforehand, their circumstances could have ended completely differently.
