economy hotels are the real money makers. these $150 a night rooms are not making any real money. Mcdonalds beats red lobster every day of the week.

If i become a franchisee of a brand, like Hilton, do i pay for hotel staff, or does Hilton take care of staffing?

You pay the staff

@@sydney73 so the franchise royalty (the 10-15% the hotel brand takes off the top in revenue) does NOT cover staff!

Hilton can manage the property, receives the revenue, pays all expenses including labor and operations, marketing etc then you will get a net income
