The kids who watched it on TV in 1960 are now retired 70 year olds with grandchildren (at least some of them).

And they were in regular rotation/reruns on TV throughout the 70's and 80's as well. Awesome cartoon that was modeled after the 1950s TV series, The Honeymooners.

I learned a lot from the Flintstones as a 5 year old in the 60s. First, a man is always supposed to have a cut buddy to get into things. Loyalty and understanding are important in friendship. Secondly, a man needs a loyal woman who sticks with you through thick and thin. It shaped my relationship with others. Now, I am 68 and have internalized those learnings.

Warner must own nearly everything that moves through a projector gate. I remember watching The Flintstones back in the mid 1960s when it was owned by Screen Gems which at that time was owned by Columbia Pictures.
@HaroldAlexis-bb8sd24 күн бұрын
That's true. I'm surprised that Hanna Barbera cartoons didn't end up as Columbia Pictures at that time Screen Gems , These days SONY pictures would have had them.
@stephenholloway689322 күн бұрын
Columbia (through its Screen Gems television division) did have a minority stake with Hanna Barbera at this point but sold it back eventually after Taft entered the picture.

Why do they call it "the paper" when it's made of rock. Paper hasn't even been invented yet in their time. EDIT: for that matter, he also calls the sky "the blue" despite it always being more of a muddy yellow color.
