Thanks Kelly, great tip on slacking off the fish to let the fish swim back up stream. Keep up the Fly Show tutorials. Some real gems.

Man I’ve really enjoyed watching these last few videos showing you guys just getting out at the end of the day and having a good time as the weather gets colder and later into the season. Learned a few little tricks from this one, thanks guys

I sure have enjoyed this series. The tips you have shared are priceless. Keep this series going. Maybe a few more during the ice out and spring run off would be cool, as well as some specific hatch shorts. I'd really like to see a little more on fly selection on the small stuff! Thanks again, your killing it!

“Brown Trout and Kelly Galloup Surprise” was the video 12 years ago in that same fishing spot. Great footage of how aggressive those brown predators can be to the cutty’s & the Kelly’s. BTW last five videos are top shelf!!! Keep’em Coming !

Another great video that calls to mind the duality of man. In this case the video shows perfection and imperfection in fly fishing reflecting the duality of fly fishing. Kelly’s videos are incredibly informative and insightful.

Great video! So many one liners kept me laughing! See you soon!
Great water below the island, use to fish that side of the river years and years ago, (Montana native, Billings, 78 years old) before it became the Millionaire mile. Would love to hire one of your guides and float that section of river downstream. I do love the casual banter and good information. Keep up the good work.

I’ve lost quite a few nice fish wade fishing the Madison when they get in the current and haul ass downstream. Looking forward to my trip this year to try your technique of giving them slack to turn them back upstream. Great video.

Nice video. Lots of good tips. Can you describe the full setup. You said “weight, fly, fly”. How much distance between flies? Dropper or tied to the bend? Beadhead #20s or no bead? Can’t wait to try that setup next summer when I’m up your way. Love the new shop in Ennis.

Will you do a video on Naked Nymphing? I've been fly fishing for almost 2 years and never heard that term. It looks like Euro nymphing, but like all things, old things get forgotten only later to reemerge and be called something else. It even happens in language, where under/uneducated younger generations make up words for things we already have words for. Like where I live they have this thing they call: "the provo river bounce rig." I learned from you (I think) that its nothing but a drop shot, or split shot rig which is easier to say anyway.
@Meller8311 ай бұрын
Just take the indicator off your nymphing rig, that’s it
@klb691011 ай бұрын
Great video. Question: I understand how you can snag a fish on a streamer, but how does a free floating nymph snag a fish, especially in the back? I always get confused when it happens to me.
@98midge11 ай бұрын
My best guess is the line hits the fish and when you set the hook to react to it the hook gets dragged along the fish’s back
@timothyvedder364311 ай бұрын
One of these days can you do a tutorial on how you set up your drop shot rig? I’m sure you’ve showed it before…!

I sent these guys an e-mail asking them if they knew of a Hook Model that would ride hook point up with no weight added for an egg-sucking Leech tie. One of the underlings replied...."Gotta add weight to the bottom on the shank"....hmmmmmmmmmmmm
@TheSlideinnАй бұрын
Hi Mark! Looks like you slightly misquoted us here. This was our direct response: "Hi Mark, You need more weight below the hook point than above it if you want a hook to ride point up. The weight from the bend on any relatively standard hook will always cause an unweighted fly to ride point down. You can use a keel hook to get past this but then you are forced to tie on a bent shank. These are what we carry, unfortunately only down to a #4: www.slideinn.com/product/mfc-galloups-belly-bumper-hook/?srsltid=AfmBOoqq4xOgbYp_I9F9g0222hF6wtx4oKXBKif6YgHweF3hI7GbUROB. You can also bend any long shank hook to redistribute the shank and bend weight relative to the eye. You could tie a simple egg sucking leech with a tight body wrap and pine squirrel strip/dubbing collar right behind the eye. You can also use buoyant materials on the opposite side of the shank from the bend but I’m guessing that isn’t what you’re looking for."
