This is the first band I ever saw live,and I will NEVER forget their awesome talent playing live. They were supporting John Otway and Wild Willy Barrett around late 70s.

I saw them on that tour too, at the place the first side of The Fall's Totale's Turns was recorded (I saw that as well).

Great tune, one of my favorites. Very catchy, poignant. I wasn't around back then (I'm 27!) but this song speaks to me in profound ways.

Waikiki waikiki waikiki waikiki waikiki waikiki waikiki...beach refugeeeeeeeeezzzz-cheers brother-classic tune and you're spot on about influences too-75% of the best of todays corking young indie bands sound as if theyve been jetted straight in from 77-78.Back then we were told 'our' music would be forgotten or laughed at within a few years-but here we are 3 decades on & theres No Age,Twisted Wheel,The Filthy Youth,Times New Viking etc-where's tony fuckin blackburn now!!

I first came across this song on a various artists tape I bought probably in 83 or 84 . Favourite Sister by Marc Riley was on it too and China's Eternal by The Tights. I wish I could remember all the other tracks...but this song has just stayed with me. So good.

thanks for uploading remember hearing this in 77 it was a brilliant single then but sadly the beeb didnt like it so didnt get the air play it should 'ave but then again they never liked any of the the new bands (punk if you like but they wern't known as punk to start with) coming out at the time..they did have one shining light though tucked away at night who challenged the rubbish they spewed out..the late great john peel..rip..

I found this song with so many other greats through college radio. I remembered there was a band on TV the Flys, and I said, "That aint the Flys". I taped the radio show with Rhino 39 Prolixin Stomp, Valium World, Stiff Little Fingers, Crass, and that set my whole teenhood into hardcore in NY. But originally, it started with this. And the Stranglers Nice and Sleezy, as well as Freestone Bummer B....to the Damned Some Girls Are Ugly Too, in the 6th grade. Great memories. I didnt like that pop punk nasally crap. This is the real deal.

I love this song. I think there's an error in the printed lyrics in the video. Second line should be: Two fingers, before it's done unto you, better make sure they've got something to do. or it might be... Two fingers, before it's done unto you, better make sure they get something to chew.
@timarnold16344 жыл бұрын
Yeah I always thought your second version was what it said. But the first option could be right as well I suppose.
